It'd be different if he didn't steal those cigars. But yeah, they need to chill out, people die everyday. It's a bummer but that's what people do, they die.

What about the cigars makes it different? Sure, he might not have been the most savory character, but is stealing Dutch Masters really a crime punishable by death? And it's not like the officer even knew he had robbed the store.

And there's a difference between dying in a car accident and being shot under dubious circumstances and having no investigation into the situation by the proper authorities. You're being pretty cold if you think a community needs to just "get over it" when one of their neighbors gets murdered and has their body left baking in the sun for the afternoon.
