Hey everyone. This was originally my post on r/trees. Most of the comments there were really encouraging and helped me get through a terrible day. I really appreciated it.

You can make fun of anyone on the internet. It's so fucking easy that it's pointless. So, why not stop and try to make someone else's day a little bit better instead of the other way around?

I wasn't trying to be mean like others are saying I am, but the post was just lazy and can easily be seen as attention seeking. Look at /r/no_sob_story (where I admit this post should've gone, not here; I didn't know about the sub) to see examples of posts just like yours.

Other than the sub being trees and weed making you feel better I don't get how the dog would be connected to your bud, bud. The post was more about you smoking weed (to feel better, or any variety of reasons, and that's fine) than it was about your dog. Maybe if your dog had some sort of cannabis patterned dog bed or something? I don't know, but that would make your dog directly relevant to the sub.

Buddy, my opinion of you is not going to improve because you think my post was lazy. First of all, it's a fucking internet post. I said exactly what I wanted to say and got way more support than I expected.

I'm going to continue to post what I feel like where I feel like and if there are mods around to point me in a more appropriate direction, I will do exactly as they suggest.

Until that day, you just keep feeling like a dumbass for being a dick. I'm more than okay with that.

I don't feel like a dumbass. I don't think I'm a dick. Your post was total garbage. What's even funnier is in my comment I was being civil and polite, when no one else was in this thread. Get real, dude.

Take away your dead dog and your post is nothing but you holding a joint.

Make another post, a photo of you holding a joint in your hand, with a new generic caption like "My favourite pastime" and you'll see others don't give a shit about the post itself. The title doesn't represent what the picture is about.

Of course, they were helpful in making you feel better, and that's great. But as another user said - if you were not doing it for karma or attention, you would've made a self post. You can give us more info about your dog, the activities you do together, etc, in the description.

"Hey guys my dog is dead (here's a picture of a joint!)". And again, what does your dog have to do with weed? Does he smoke it with you?

It's like going to /r/gaming and posting a photo of GTA V saying "My dog died. I loved [doing stuff] with him. This is for you, dogbrah"
