"This" posts, with misleading titles designed to fool frontpage readers that they're seeing a post on another sub, only to be met with something "hilariously" boring.

Along with the puns, this place has declined lately, now it feels like /r/dadjokes met rule 5 and 6 and /r/funny in a seedy motel, and they had ungodly sex, followed by ugly, ugly babies of uncertain lineage.

Hmm, guess this turned into my /r/JustUnsubbed rant. Hey ho.

Now I feel like doing an archaeological expedition into the history of /r/notinteresting to see how it's changed over time.

Are you saying it's gone from being actually not interesting to ironically not interesting? I can see that - if someone posts a photo of someone watching paint dry with a title of "watching paint dry" because that is a cliche not interesting thing. It's not a post about watching paint dry, it's a post about saying "watching paint dry is not interesting".

Yes, you summed it up perfectly. As well as the other complaints, I've also felt an increase in parodies of posts from default subs like /r/pics, only with something 'boring' replacing the original post's content. This sort of thing is supposed to be what /r/boringreality is about, not here.

It just seems to me that, rather than being centered around a genuine love for mundanity, it has more and more become like kids taking turns to do a BMX trick in front of each other, to vie for praise and attention.

Which to me is genuinely uninteresting, and a bit of a pity.

i don't disagree at all. i really like /notinteresting because 2/3 times im laughing at the "gotcha moments", but nobody seems to want to drop the act once we're inside.
