Probably just people shooting at a glass window. i see seven holes, large holes, which would lead me to believe it's a 1911, in .45acp. common pistol for people to carry and plink about with. probably bored guys shooting glass that's it. also, no blood staining or any splattering, and the rounds came from the side you are standing on (due to the blow out of the glass on the other side).

How can you guess the specific model of the gun from the large holes?

the large holes are almost certainly made by a .45 bullet. 1911s have a 7 round magazine capacity, and based on the incredible popularity of the 1911, it's not a bad guess to say that's what it was. No way to prove it from the picture, but it's a damn good guess. Most likely scenario in my mind would be someone looking around while carrying and decided to empty the mag. Not a smart thing to do, but not everyone is smart.

Oh okay, I didn't connect the magazine capacity with the 1911. That makes a little more sense.

I thought he went Big holes -> .45 bullet -> 1911 is really popular so it's a 1911

I honestly believe that it would be a 1911 in 45, just do the common amount of the pistols carried and those big ass holes. looks to me like some kids/youngins shooting a pane of glass. but hey it's cool, this is the internet, it's easier to talk crap then make an educated guesses.

1911 is just the model name for the .45 caliber semi auto pistol that every gangsta in every movie ever uses. But in films and on TV they just call it a "45", or maybe a Colt .45.

Most semi autos use smaller rounds, and most revolvers hold six rounds. So it's just the most probable answer.

Of all the gun owners I know, only 2 of them own 1911s and neither of them carry them regularly.

When I grow up, I wanna be able to guess the caliber and model of a firearm based on bullet holes from a picture on the internet.

1911s are mostly made of metal which leads to an overall heavier gun which isn't as favorable for everyday carry.
