Just gonna throw out there that Bob Marley was just as white as he was black and and sang about nothing but peace, love, and brotherhood amongst everyone. He would flip in his grave if he knew you were using his visage to further your racist bullshit.
(One) One thing you need to get through your little cracker jack mind is one I can not be racist due to the things I say and do don’t oppress white people.
(Two) Bob Marley was against the oppression of his people by the white man. And he didn’t lean to one side or the other racially he stated…. But he decided to get in touch with his true self which was being a black man in a Black religion.
(Three) Some say it was this sense of abandonment and persecution that led Marley into the comforting ideals of Rastafarianism . It was a black religion that believed Haile Selassie I of Ethiopia was a black king who Marcus Garvey prophesied would deliver redemption for the black race. On becoming a Rasta, Marley developed a strong allegiance to black culture and dedication to spreading the ideology of Pan-Africanism.
(Four) Bob Marley emphasized in raising the consciousness of black people to their oppression on his tours around Africa. During the Kenya tour in 1978, he began to read large quantities of black consciousness literature, including biographies of Malcolm X and Angela Davis. Marley emerged as sincerely passionate about his general goal of liberating the global black community from the clutches of the white oppressor.
(Five) OH and you know about that “One love” song Bob Marley made?? Yeah the lyrics might sound cute and all, but you’re sadly mistaken. Well he did believe that we should all get together to not be racist and unite no matter race, etc. But It was more than the call for unity, but his lyrics also described the oppression his people faced and how sinners will pay for their sins in the end. (A.K.A) White folk. But that does not mean strip them of their culture because YOU have none and wear it as a mockery. At the end of the day you look like the chicken with it’s head cut off.
(six) The thought that you think you get to determine what he “Would have thought” Just blasts the truthful fact that white males feel entitlement on trying to dictate what “Would have, could have, and should have been…” A common thing done with whites (E.i. “Martin Luther King wouldn’t have wanted us to….”) Your option on BLACK Culture, and as well as BLACK Religion have no use in my post. Be gone.👋
^^^^^^^Motherfucking Read for blood because white people love taking black figures, re-defining an co opting their legacies, and then using them against black people.
Bob Marley is actually rolling in his grave at the site of all you faux “white” Rastafarians that don’t know shit about the religion, you just want to smoke weed and be on some kumbuya shit. He was a black man that identified with a black religion while promoting pro blackness so y’all bringing up the fact that he is white is irrelevant.
