Perhaps a better rendering is orthodox Christianity (/r/TrueX is a pretty common subreddit that means "the thing you probably expected when you went to /r/X."

So with conversations here, you probably aren't going to see many people arguing with the claims that are traditionally Christian, like:

  • God exists
  • Jesus is God
  • Christianity is the exclusive path to salvation
  • Sin is bad, and it's not only OK but important to say so
  • Heresies are bad, and it's important to say so

Additionally, the crowd here is more conservative generally, and thus you get a more sympathetic reaction to beliefs like:

  • Scripture is inerrant (there are a variety of shades of this)
  • Creation happened (shades of this, too)
  • Homosexuality is wrong
  • Sex outside of marriage is wrong
  • Faith is as important as being nice to people
  • Doctrines are good
  • Creeds are good

By many definitions you would be outside of Christianity as a Unitarian. I'm not saying that to be offensive or hurtful just laying it out there. You probably know that of course but I figured I'd point it out anyway.

no, not when it comes to heresy. Its one thing to decide to part ways on minor issues, but Jesus being God is literally THE most important issue. If Jesus is not god there is absolutely ZERO reason for me to be a christian.

Well look, I do agree that this is heresy and that it is important to call out evil and to do so boldly. But that does not exempt us from our call to be salt and light. We speak against heresy with an aim to find that person saved; we preach the gospel in every season.

I'm not going to try to convince you at all, if you actually cared about the subject and wanted to know the truth all you have to do is read in the new testament regularly, its all over the place. If your not willing to open the gosples then why should I bother beating you over the head with it. The only way you can come to the conclusion jesus isn't god is if you haven't even tried to figure it out. If your not willing to put effort into finding truth then it won't mater how much I throw at you, you'll just ignore it.

No, it's not all over the place.

Trinity and the deification of Christ (not divinity) is a very late teaching, established centuries after the beginning of Christianity.

With a concordance, check every verses with "Jesus" and "God". For a couple of ambiguous verses, you have several dozens of explicit verses that absolutely contradict this heresy.
