Only in a joke about Tony Abbot can you portray Bush as the good guy.

Bush is an idiot, but out of the people mentioned I think he'd be the most likely to do that.

Even though I completely disagree with Bush's politics, I have to agree that Bush is the person most likely to do that. It's important to be able to differentiate between a person and their opinion of politics, my son. Or do you pick your friends by which politial party they vote for?

Don't be childish, poisonous attitudes like yours aren't needed in politics - you make the problem worse. I say this as a staunch socialist who ranks G.W. Bush's Presidency down there with Martin Van Buren, Franklin Pierce and Ronald Reagan.

Why was Martin Van Buren exceptionally bad? I'd say the worst presidents were Hoover, Andrew Jackson and Andrew Johnson.

I put Van Buren so low because he took Andrew Jackson's legacy and made it even worse. Andrew Jackson's not too far off though! Hoover was mediocre, but I don't think he quite reached the depths of awfulness we're talking about here - he was a 1 step forward, 2 steps back kinda President, but the worst moonwalked through their Presidencies.

It's pretty well known that most of the problems under Van Buren were caused by the incompetence of Jackson before him. It's often said that Jackson ruined the presidency of his predecessor, John Quincy Adams as well as that of his successor Martin Van Buren.
