If the protagonist is queer, and the story doesn't revolve around romance, then why is the protagonist queer in the first place if it's largely irrelevant? I'm simply curious .

By definition our sexuality revolves around sex and romance. If there isn’t any sex or romance in the game at all, then the sexuality of the character doesn’t matter. I say leave it ambiguous and let the player read into the character what they want.
