I was reading about that. Un-fucking-believable. Those two women were in the wrong - breaking the rules with their PDA. It's nothing to do with discrimination. And more to the point, his actions were intended to protect their privacy and his unit. What he did is what I would expect a commanding officer to exactly do. But no.

The school district simply re-labeled their calendar to cover all of the holidays in the timeframe without showing preference to a specific one? Someone explain to me how that is a problem, why government should show preference to a religion.

The rest of that stuff IS very depressing. The article about the LTC is very scary, though I imagine there is another side of the story that the author has left out. It seems like such a far cry from our normal military structure, and a lot of the violations described violate the disciplinary system and shouldn't have been upheld.
