I think that's a huge part of both of these subs problem. This isn't a competition, it's a forum to converse with others about a mutual interest.

You see it all the time on /r/firearms that /r/guns is a bunch of crybaby power tripping neck beards and on /r/guns that /r/firearms is a bunch of politically ranting useless tards.

It's like everything, with any large group of people you are going to have a few extremists, bad eggs, morons and the like. No one is making anyone go to either, everyone should feel free (because you are) to subscribed, visit, use, and look at whatever sub you want without passing judgement of 20,000+ people bases upon a few comments or interactions you have with one or two or them, whoever they may be.

I personally really like both subs, they are good for their own set of specialties and I've found something I like in both. I wish this whole trans-submentional circle jerk about which is better would just stop. It's just a massive waste of time that has nothing to do with why any of us are all really here.

If someone acts childish in one location, the mature response is to ignore it.

I saw him ban 4 people in one thread for essentially nothing. They were nowhere near justified bans. And each ban was accompanied by a gif like this...

Here's a description of what happened copied from another user over there. I can verify its truth as I saw it happen:

There was a post last night in which a commenter argued that the bot which asks people to post a description with their OP was nagging OP too quickly as he was still typing it up (long description).

Another commenter (who shall remain un-named) then told said first commenter to stfu (in a somewhat rude fashion). It became a fiasco, was linked to from other subs, there was a banhammer being thrown around in and out of /r/guns, and then a mod turned the sub private for reasons that I can only speculate, and will only speculate in my head on account of I don't want to get banned.
