Cowboy and Indian dress up is always fun<3

Racist dress up, fun for all white people! My culture is not a costumeYou could have chosen a million other non-racist things to dress up as

Oh no don’t worry, shes 1/36th Cherokee on her second cousin’s dogs side

If you could try and understand my perspective i would appreciate it…Please read my text to you all…

…Instead of saying how horrid my brilliant little sister and her amazing boyfriend are, you should possibly stop and think of how you could hurt her.
You’ve obviously been hurt by those who have hurt Indians, or any race, in the past, so why create more hurt?..
Yes, we should be very aware of our history, and face up to the facts. I agree what happened in the past to Indians all over is horrible. Reading about the Trail of Tears alone makes me emotional for weeks. We should never forget them in honor. Still we should take into account that people who are alive today, naturally matter more.
They. Are. Alive. Now…and are the only ones who can change the future from being like the past…
Memories are important by all means, but being kind to everyone today is what matters most.
How are you going to change the pictures of the past if you aren’t kind to people like my sister?
People are never going to care about what you know until they know how much you care,
…and your attitude comes off incredibly cruel.

My sister is innocent.
Perhaps we have some ancestry, bad blood in her or i, that was of the most evil slave master of all time, or a horrid turn coat, but all in all it doesn’t matter. We are not our history, we will not become what our ancestors were, nor will we let your opinion of us turn us into them.
Her skin color no more makes her evil then your race makes you aloud to condemn her.
They say “dress codes” give men a reason to “victim blame” when theres a rape. “It’s because of what she was wearing”, and man and woman alike believe it. So isn’t condemning us to be as unconsiderate as our(if we have any) ancestors just the same as giving us a dress code? It’s the same concept…
I can imagine by jumping into your shoes you might say her and I’s ancestry has nothing to do with it. It’s the wrongness of our not knowing better.
Her ignorance is not evil. It is an opportunity.
I see time and time again people complain about our school system, but instead of educated those who do not know better, you throw her under the bus. Call her “white people” sarcastically claim she’s a “cruel joke”. That isn’t sharing, that is spitting in her face and not only drawing into a unwilling state to learn, but makes you into a cruel person i just cannot believe you are.
Someone who cares about the past so righteously, would not be so cruel if it wasn’t for a deeper reason…

I, personally, would really like to know your story and think its wonderful that you care so much about the rights of people. I went through your blog before deciding to reply to you and think some of your comments are more then accurate. I also agree with you, history is horrid…

And just as your passion is sharing the cruelty shown to races around the world. Mine is to show the kindness we can all achieve.

I have made it my own personal mission to show people that their opinions are not evil. That opinions are what you believe in,  and in turn, what you believe makes you who you are. And most importantly, in sharing our opinions/beliefs we do not have to depict ourselves as evil.
Being kind and trying to generously share my kindness and teach others to be kind, is so very close to my heart.
And I hope I haven’t offended you in anyway, and you can possibly come to understand how hurt I was for my sister who meant no harm to You or anyone

I hope  also that I have impacted you in a positive way..

-

Also to my sister who is dealing with  negative comments on this photo.
I love you dearly, adore you beyond your comprehension and think that you are a wonderful and beautiful person. Your costume was never meant to offend and i know more then anything, anyone who has met you would stand behind you and say you never meant to harm. I love you hon and I still plan on posting the photoshoot photos :))
Also I wanna add you didn’t do some negative  ”sexy” weirdness, you from what I saw, wore it to support something you love and I,and others, enjoy your passions to the utmost.xoxo

Lmao shut the fuck up
