Hi,
I used Opera and FF before, now I moved to FF because it is a secure and convenient. Having said that I wasn't able to find three useful features:

Fast forward/backward. Allows to go to the next/previous page. Very useful with forums.

Minimize tab. Allows to minimize (rather than close) a tab (not window). If someone posts 'quantum computers employ entanglement', I would open a wiki tab, read the first paragraph about entanglement to get an idea what it is, and go back to his post. However, I want to read the full wiki article after I finish reading the post. Minimize tab would be the best solution.

Open in a background tab/window. Opens a page in a background. Someone posts 'gravity spreads with a light speed (link)'. I want to read the paper after I finish reading the post. Then I open the link in a background tab.

Are there any extensions that address these questions?
Thanks

The temporary solutions that I use are:

1st and 3rd problems are solved. Thanks to developers.
2nd problem is not solved yet, but there is a temporary solution (Focus Last Selected Tab). Unfortunatelly, it only allows to toggle between the newest and the second newest tabs.

Is there a way to actually minimize a TAB?
Thanks.

Update:
Fast forward/backward Now the first link in Google for 'Firefox fast forward' is this: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1934 Awesome addon, thanks a lot to developers
Minimize tab FLST partially sorts out the problem. Thanks for this addon. (To install this addon you will have to add the site to a list of trasted sites).
Open in a background tab/window The thread was http://lifehacker.com/software/firefox- ... 263940.php
or http://superdragandgo.mozdev.org/ I tried the first solution and it works great. I will install superdragandgo soon.

PS I have discovered a big discussion of suggested Firefox features here:

Tools->Options->Tabs-> uncheck When I open a link in a new tab, switch to it immediately ?
(*.mozillaZine.org is not Mozilla!)

The Complaint Department at Mozilla (current complaints) (<It is not a real complaint site but for jokes/testing of bugzilla)

James, your solution is even easier. Thank you.
Can you suggest any way to minimize a tab? How difficult it is to write this addon?

Thanks.
