Addressing recent issues with fake/sockpuppet accounts (self.kratom)

I want to address what seems to be an attempt by another vendor to direct others towards their business. After looking back over the past 3 months, HerbalSalvation has created well over a dozen accounts around the same time as the creation of KratomKorner to not only pull people out of this sub but bash anyone who has had an issue with HS. We are not going to engage with this kratom vendor and resort to these tactics to tear apart the community. I understand that they are currently PM'ing users to talk about the "dirty" tactics used on /r/kratom. Any long time users of this forum will know that there are a number of posts from real people praising their experience of a wide variety of vendors on any given week. It is a completely unnecessary and unwarranted fight and looks bad for everyone involved. I want to reiterate that we encourage real reviews of any and all vendors by real people.

I hope that we are able to get back to building out our Wiki and Sidebar and continue to provide more information for this community.

Not sure about everything involved…

but it goes without saying that "fake marketing" should be banned immediately. Real reviews by real people -only-.

I have extreme doubts that FYS is a shill. Although anything is possible. (i doubt it in this case, though). I learned quite a bit of FYS, and he was one of the few people who posted on a regular basis and didn't seemed biased. I saw him review multiple vendors in detail on different timelines.

If anything I'm a shill because I've only burned from one vendor before and I suggest it. This is because I take other's experiences with other vendors/strains and I base my decisions from there.
This isn't always the best scenario though, when you're basing your decisions off reviews from people that are not guaranteed to be real/not-fake.

If FuckYeahSeaking is a shill for Herbal Salvation why does that account recommend lots of other vendors and even post review of them. MMS, SPL, BKW, Kratomone, HB&M are all vendors he mentioned in addition to HS are you saying its a shill account that shills for 5+ vendors simultaneously?

We've gone through all of the posts to find this pattern. It's a very GOOD pattern and hard to spot, I'll admit, but the turn to a more hostile attack not only on us but in other threads to others who would express their experience with HS that wasn't fully positive is unwarranted and unacceptable. The only reason this seems like a big deal is because they have a ton of accounts. How do you think they're keeping track of who is getting banned? Check out KratomKorner and see how "they" talk to themselves immediately one after another. The kratom forum is not THAT active. Additionally, this is really not something I want to deal with after a day at work. It's really pathetic at this point.

Yeah, now that I look into it more.. It makes sense to me (somewhat) that FYS would be a shill.

I mean logically thinking, he would have to be motivated somehow or another ($$$duh) to spend so much fucking time here. You don't put that much time into something just to help a bunch of random people from the goodness of your heart.

You guys obviously don't have the perspective that I do, but I know Seaking and can vouch that he is not a shill. As others have pointed out, he has reviewed countless other vendors and we personally speak about the myriad strains we have ordered from many different vendors.

But to ban him for one fight, which happens often on here, is absolutely idiotic. You are grasping at straws when you claim that his reviews of other vendors are a "cover".

You banned him because you're a shill yourself and panicked at the thought of another vendor receiving praise over yours. I wish this sub would get different mods, because you all are incredibly biased.

That was in response to a direct question asking about the status of inventory. The next mention of GetKratom was 8 months ago, in response to a direct question asking which vendors accept bitcoin. Both were factual statements, not subjective experiences. I would hardly call that being biased.

So, if I ask a writer for Bioware to moderate a subreddit for RPG games, would he not be biased? Even if he doesn't outright tout his association with that company, he stills works for it and will, in some way, work against other developers in order to elevate his company above others.

Of course, I don't know you and can't possibly know your history of policing this forum, but any objective view of the situation could see the potential for bias on your part.

That all depends on the person, you can't say that every person will work against others to promote the company he or she works for. Certainly some will, but definitely not all. Just because a potential for abuse exists doesn't mean that it's being used.

We've intentionally let this subreddit police itself for that very reason and try to stay out of it.

You have inherent bias whether you like it or not, Ingenium13. In the future when I start making money off of something I'm promoting, I plan that to be the first thing I say, "I will make money off of this".

Everyone these days always claims that they have nothing to gain from something, to the point that it is in the best to just conclude that they have plenty to gain if they say they have nothing to gain.

All semantics at this point. If he was a shill, another one will replace him soon. Tis the nature of the beast. I have my vendor so I'm not worried about anything.

We are leaving these posts up so others can see that these 1 month-no comment accounts, are part of the pattern of the first group of shills created to push HS. There is also a bunch of 3 month accounts all created with the start of KratomKorner with very similar user input so that it doesn't look like a shill. This has been planned and playing out for 3 months and have turned this forum completely into their own playground.

Look at the comments he makes and you can see its not a shill account. Why would a shill recommend and review other companies other than the one they are shilling for? Most shills get downvoted to oblivion and only post about their company this isnt the case for any of the people banned recently

Lets keep in mind that your account was created just to comment on mine and now you are claiming HS had some one spend months reviewing other vendors and recommending other companies as well as making numerous posts not about any vendor at all just to shill at a later date. I hope the right thing happened. I hope an honest man didn't get banned, but if he was a shill, I'm glad the moderator's snuck him out (even if they are potentially shills themselves).

Hell, lets be honest. We all promote our vendors is some way or another. But making fake account and fake reviews is not something I ever would consider doing.

I don't disagree. I've been a subscriber of r/kratom for over 2 years. I've been reading both sides of this. I enjoy reading and posting in r/kratom and am not about to risk my real account being banned for asking the wrong question or saying the wrong thing. However, I am very curious about all this and am trying to reach my own conclusions despite the censorship.

We are trying to rectify this situation and had to pull anything that was pushed by the accounts we had to delete (and continue to delete as they are being created faster than we can delete-see below). If anything was inappropriately deleted in the process, we will work to rectify that.
