That's not true. The only reason people react that way is because it was a soft call that helped United win the game and because it's United, they ignore the plethora of soft fouls Dowd called on United. Or you know, Fergie is actually the FA and all the refs favor United, or whatever.

Every soft call on Chelsea granted a yellow card.

Continuous soft calls and even not-so-soft calls didn't convert into yellows for United, that's the main difference.
