I don't even like art games such as gone home or every day the same dream or dear esther. I find them very boring and non interactive, considering other games actually let you shape the history of their worlds, rather than simply look at artifacts from that history.

But I don't bullies and I find feminism to have net positive effects on the world, including encouraging women to not be afraid to show their bodies online, or encouraging women to become strong political leaders that lead us towards a better america.

I don't like gone home, but I wouldn't threaten someone over it. Or even encourage other people to not play it. Trust me, if exploration and inferring one's past from various artifacts is your thing, gone home is your fuckin' game. I won't buy it, because a few let's plays told me all I needed to know, but I encourage people who like archaeology to give it a go. You'll enjoy it.

Fuck, I don't even like Anita or Quinn, but the harassment and misogyny make it impossible to discuss the actual merits (or lack thereof) of their work. I hate polygon, I think a lot of their articles are crap, but GG is just conspiracy after conspiracy. People should be opposing it based on the fact that it's so steeped in anti-intellectualism and rationalization.

I like art games. I'm addicted to cicadamarionette's Unity3D experiences, and I actually nonironically spent a while today considering if I should buy the physical collector's edition of Gone Home or wait for another Steam sale. I haven't played it yet, but the trailer got me hooked.

I don't like MOBAs, I've never enjoyed CS, the only eSports I'm into are Smash Bros and TF2.

But fuck, I agree with you on every point, and though I'm worried about the rift GG is creating, I hope that after this is over we can all go back to playing video games and sharing video games and talking about video games. I hope and I believe that one day if I become a video game reviewer and I write an article about how Desolate Hope is one of the greatest games I've played that went under the radar, I can publish it and make people play it without worrying about angry gamers accusing me of corruption because I wasn't 100% objective.
