And even though I would love to see that happen, their intention is not to Indialize it but to add religion to it. He took a dig at modern doctors and medicine, saying now there are specialists for everything, and that he fears in future there will be doctors specialising in the treatment of the right and left hands.

He then proceeded to point out that in ancient times one 'Rajvaidya' was enough for whole village.

I personally feel the man needs a science advisor much more than a media advisor. Someone to just classify things into BS and non-BS.

Religion should not be used by state level bureaucrats and especially PM's, because then it legitimizes a lot of crap. Muslims will use their beliefs/myths/stories to justify an incredibly lot of backward practices, as will other religions. State should only rely on laws. But Modi is a man not a God or anyone who holds any religious importance. how can he spread unproven information and sell it in name of Hinduism? It can only be seen as his personal opinion and it doesnt matter because the there are so many interpretation of same text by so many people how can you hold it against a single people? hold it against all hindus because they did not bother to sort out the mess themselves.

I try my best not to generalize - Hindus and Mulsims alike. Here too, I am not holding Hindus accountable for any such statement. In fact, I feel that making groups of people based on religion or any other identity is viewing the complex nature of human beings via a simplistic prism.

The way research works is that by default there is no existence of something unless you prove it. Additionally, in this case - there isn't even a remote indication that genetic sciences existed during Mahabharata or plastic surgery was performed on Ganesha.
