..in everything but his politics.

I tend to agree. If we could have just one of his works not condemn authority, that would be shiny.

[–]joedd424 -5 ポイント-4 ポイント  (9子コメント)

especially since he's the authority now

It's amazing how quickly he took the authority aspect away in AoS. Yes, their rebel-like nature is a result of Winter Soldier, but I have a feeling the team would have become underdogs no matter what.

I really wish people realized Joss is barely involved in the show

I recognize that he isn't in the trenches so to speak, but I have to hold him accountable at least as much as I did in Buffy season 6 and 7. And the type of vibes that are just so Whedon-y don't come of as imitation. He is loosely guiding, but he is guiding.

He's not as involved as he was in Buffy though. Post pilot it is basically entirely The show runners game. Joss isn't hands on anymore and even then the cap2 stuff wasn't his doing. It feels wedon-y because a whedon controls the show but isn't joss

I'm adamant that if the show was not coming out the way he wanted it to, he would not be putting his name on it. Since that's kind of a ludicrous notion, I believe he's “reading every script, every story, and giving notes and re-writes", although not directing as much, which was his intention from the beginning. I think he's comfortable with that as much as he was atleast with Buffy Season 6. So many interviews that ask why he was taking a step back and he's clarified that even if his name's not on a work, by no means has he not read and approved it.

That the problem. He's not putting his name on much. He got it off the ground, directed the pilot and turned it over. He's not in the writers room. I'm sure he sees it as marvel has to know the overall story to continue but he's not changing it. Whedon has more important things to do. He's even said he might consider stepping down from avengers 3 or after and becoming a writer on the show which he isn't now at all.

I think he misses the writer's room, and I miss him there too. To some degree I think we got spoiled by how heavily involved he was in the first three seasons of Buffy.

but thats the thing, shield will never go away, even if cap "killed" it, its very much like hydra in that respect.

I like the parallels between the organizations, even though I think the distinction between underdogs and freaky-death-cult are pretty clear. It's interesting and hey, tv needs more commentary on the role of government especially in response to the NSA stuff. But its starting to get a little repetitive. Even when Shield is operating out of a hangar, they're somehow still a dangerous government institution. Seems like he can't stop it.

Joss feminine sensibilities are what made him so successfull with Avengers, and the reason he now is more or less head honcho director at Marvel.

[–]joedd424 0 ポイント1 ポイント  (4子コメント)

no, joss being a good writer over all made him head honcho. If avengers wasn't the comedy that it was, I doubt it would have been the success that it is.

[–]facelessviking 1 ポイント2 ポイント  (3子コメント)

Well, of course that too. But he has been central in bringning in the fair sex to the fold by letting female characters be more than eye-candy.

Well, that treatment and description of Joss female characters is in no way fair. It is purpously sidestepping all the things that makes his female characters great. But of course i welcome the discussion either way.

Just to take River. She is the most powerfull and the smartest person in the series. She starts out as a trope, but then that is reverted, and she rises to her potential.

its just showing how the arguments used on other things are so generic and unfounded that they can even be applied to his work, both me and the video poster dont actually believe whats in the video, its just there to point out that these critics are just baiting for attention and dont have merrit.
