Los Angeles, CA– October 21, 2014 – Facing a future where women are still paid 23% less than men for the same work, and where 1 in 5 women are raped or sexually assaulted in gender-based violence, little girls between 6 and 13 years-old dressed as pretty pink princesses drop F-bombs to draw attention to society’s continued sexism. Asking the question, “What’s more offensive? A little girl saying f*ck or the sexist way society treats girls and women” these adorably articulate little ladies in sparkling tiaras turn the “princess in distress” stereotype on its head and contrast the F-word with words and statistics society should find shocking such as “pay inequality” and “rape.” The video also features a 12 year-old boy wearing a pink gown standing up against sexism saying, “When you tell boys not to ‘act like a girl,’ it’s because you think it’s bad to be a girl.”
Quotes from “Pink Princesses Drop F-Bombs for Feminism”:
“Women make 23% less than men for the exact same f*cking work. I shouldn’t need a penis to get paid.”
“Stop focusing on the way I f*cking look and give me a book. My aspirations in life shouldn’t be worrying about the shape of my ass.”
“One out of five women will be sexually assaulted or raped by a man. Stop telling girls how to dress and start teaching boys not to f*cking rape.”

The girls appear along side women in the video sporting T-shirts with bold pink text declaring “Girls Just Want to Have Fun-damental Rights” and “This is What a #Feminist
Looks Like.” The video is part of advocacy T-shirt company FCKH8.com’s charity T-shirt fundraising effort. The group’s website is making tees available starting at $15, with $5 from each tee sold benefiting five anti-sexism organizations and projects and asks website visitors to suggest their favorite groups to benefit.
Video producer Mike Kon comments, “Some adults may be uncomfortable with how these little girls are using a bad word for a good cause. It is shocking what they are saying, but the real shock is that women are still paid less than men for the same work in 2014, not the use of the F-word. The big statistic that 1 out of 5 women are sexually assaulted or raped is something society seems to find less offensive than a little four letter word and we love how these girls draw attention to that imbalance.” He added, “Instead of washing these girls’ mouths out with soap, maybe society needs to clean up its act.”
3. The girls are dressed as princesses, but once they open their mouths it’s pretty clear they’re anything but:
“What the fuck? I’m not some pretty fucking helpless princess in distress,” they shout.
5. The girls continue, “What is more offensive? A little girl saying ‘fuck’ or the fucking unequal and sexist way society treats girls and women?”

7. Words like “pay inequality” and “rape and violence” are more offensive than little girls with potty mouths, they say.
“Women are paid 25% less than men, for the exact same fucking work,” one points out. Another girl adds, “I shouldn’t need a penis to get paid!”
9. The girls also mention that sure, it’s great that women can vote, but equality’s next step is “walking to the car without fear.”
“Here’s a hot tip! Stop telling girls how to dress, and start teaching boys not to fucking rape.”

11. In one particularly jarring moment, the girls say that 1 in 5 women will be sexually assaulted or raped. “Which one of us will it be?” one asks.

13. Another set of dirty words? “Be pretty.”
“Society teaching girls that our bodies, boobs, and butts are more important than our brains leads us to thinking our worth comes from our waistlines,” they explain.
“My aspirations in life should not be worrying about the shape of my ass.”

- .Anna Lou BeIt's sad that people are offended by swear words more than they are the discrimination their daughters are facing. Great priorities!
- .Richy Kandora · Top Commenter · Bodyguard and occasional Elmo-beater at Seseme Streetwhere did anyone say they weren't mad about the discrimination? Just because that is wrong doesn't make the exploitation of their kids better. That's like on par as saying "you shouldn't be mad that I assaulted someone because I killed another guy". Can't we be mad at both?
- .Taylor Rose Roster · Follower at Glorifying GodThis video makes me want to cry. I cannot believe that they would use the innocent children to speak so vulgarly to try and "make a point". I know for a fact that any point youre trying to make is not important when it comes to the preservation of innocence. Keep in mind that these little girls are being told what to say. they are being used as puppets, and are being robbed of thier innocence and purity. Im sorry but its wrong.
- .Faye Clubb · Top Commenter · Works at Walmart"Keep in mind that these little girls are being told what to say" And it's kind of ironic that they would have the kids say "Stop telling us how to dress". I love the message of this video, and I love that they're promoting the women's rights, but this commercial could have been done a LOT differently and STILL had the same effect. There are like, a million ways that they could have done the commercial without the swearing, and given a good shock factor. In my opinion, no male or female or any in between CHILD should be swearing at the tender age of 6. At that point, it's not about sexism, it's about protecting their childhood, you know?
- .Jessica Harbur · Top Commenter · Las Vegas, NevadaSo don't exploit women, but go ahead and exploit your children into saying things they probably wouldn't on their own.
- .Courtney Michelle Smotkin · NYU Class of 2017Well the kids probably already know the words. I know I did at that age, and I used them. And the parents gave them permission. Who doesn't think cursing feels good? they probably even had fun doing this. Would you feel differently if it were a bunch of little boys cursing on a playground?
- .Kristine CliffordJessica Harbur They're actors...I don't understand why people are calling this exploitation. How many movies or commercials have you seen with children in it? They're are plenty of movies with children cursing in it too.. and besides, these girls are undoubtedly strong and kickass
- .Richy Kandora · Top Commenter · Bodyguard and occasional Elmo-beater at Seseme StreetMy god you people are delusional. Politicizing kids is bad enough but using them as marionettes and forcing them to say things they wouldn't say is pretty god damn frightening. I am all for equal rights but christ, calm down a little bit.
- .Chelsea Kelle · Works at ActorAfrah Hyder Amazing point. And this is exactly why using the word "politicizing" in this context by Richy is so embarrassing when you realize what is happening every where else. Technically saying a swear word does literally zero harm. What does do harm is the subjects they are talking about in the video.
- .Elizabeth La FolletteTo be honest, I'm proud of the mothers that let their daughters do this. They're proving that they believe in supporting something so often brushed under the carpet because it's "uncomfortable". Give these women and children an award. They're powerful and inspiring. And as a 15 year old girl, yeah, I feel empowered. To those of you who find vulgarity in this: It's just a word so commonly used that it has lost it's power to really offend anyone but oversensitive people. And by calling them "sweet" and "innocent" you're missing the whole point of the video. They're more powerful and strong and confident and they're at least 15 years younger than you. So find your confidence and join them. I don't want to offend anyone, but I found confidence in this video, genuine confidence. AND IM NOT SORRY ABOUT IT.
- .John Munoz · Top Commenter · International Man of Mystery at FYI, I'm a spy.your 16 lol of course you dont see anything wrong with using words like this you use them all the dam time because there in your songs you listen to the games you play and the shit you watch its become like another what ever to you AND thats the point there trying to get across to you that these words have become second nature to us and they shouldnt be if your an adult you can do and say what ever the fuck you want because you know right from wrong but kids should not be told hey say fuck on a video its for a good cause lol there still learning right from wrong I HATE going to the park and hearing kids say fuck out loud with my nephews around playing i dont say these words in front of kids because there still fucking kids its beyond the point of being a good cause for women now this is what they wanted to attention but its not the right kind its fucking sad to see kids your age get inspired with such a bad video with the impowering word in the whole thing is fuck lol really makes you think were our futures are heading
- .John Munoz · Top Commenter · International Man of Mystery at FYI, I'm a spy.Kristine Clifford ill make it easier for you what i meant when i said thats the point there trying to get across to you is me trying to get her to understand why people are mad at the adults for using children to curse and use that language is that better? or do you need some more help
- .ScottieAnd Helen · SGT at United States ArmySadly everyone seems more concerd with the word fuck than the real issues they talked about. I think they have a point here, and most of you proved it. One in five raped and your concerd they said fuck. Pretty fucked up. :/
- .Lindsey Thompson · Hamilton Southeastern High SchoolI personally am more concerned that adult issues are being shoved down little kids throats who are much too young to even understand the point of feminism better yet the fact that while they are saying things like "they are told to be pretty" they are actually being told what to say and how to feel at six years. This video is completely absurd.
- .Punkie Monkie · Top Commenter · HBIC, Laying Down Some Real Conversation for Basic Ass Bitches at Bad Bitches, Inc.I've been dropping F-bombs since second grade. I just made sure no adults were around. While I understand people taking issue with the use of children to make a point that the child clearly does not understand (read: taking your child to a pro-life rally, marching with their very own child-sized sign depicting a dead fetus), y'all should probably stop crying about the swearing. I promise you, kids swear. They do. And the world continues to turn. Fancy that.
- .Rex Gambill · Macon, GeorgiaEven if it's for a good cause, this still amounts to the exploitation of children.
- .Chelsea Kelle · Works at ActorThe definition of exploitation is "the action or fact of treating someone unfairly in order to benefit from their work". How are these kids getting treated unfairly? In reference to this video, these children are getting treated very fairly. You know what's not fair? The topics that they are discussing. Just because they are children doesn't mean they aren't people.
- .Hannah Cohn-Manik · Top CommenterChelsea Kelle They're using kids who are young and innocent to propagate a political agenda. How is that not exploitation? I'm not saying that other forms of exploitation are okay, this seems hypocritical to me. How would you feel if this was your kid? Honestly, hearing a young child use a swear word is pretty upsetting.
- .Sam Rose · Colorado State UniversityHannah Cohn-Manik I would argue this is less of a political agenda and more a human rights agenda. Should these young women and girls not be educated on the rights that are afforded them? To know the opposition they face and empower them with the strength to find their equality (and voice) in society is an education base I want our younger generation to have. The cussing isn't the issue and perhaps has made a straw man out of the argument. Learning that you have a voice to stand up for your rights is an important lessons to learn when younger and one I hope many young women and girls (and boys) are ingrained with.
- .Jack J Jones · Top Commenter · Washington, District of ColumbiaGod I hate the internet. Not only is this embarrassing for the children and parents but it's not proving a point. Isn't there two sides to the issue here? Two wrongs don't make a right. If this is how they're trying to get messages across to today's youth, then I'm glad that I had the last generation of "real" parenting.
- .Glenn Davey · Top CommenterYou think specific words are wrong? and that kids shouldnt' say them?
Aren't you embarrassed to look like a fucking moron on the internet? Other adults can READ what you've written, you know........
You must have been raised by some real 1950's up-tight motherfuckers
