First, voter ID laws require even more government bureaucracy so, I'm already leery.

Following that, the number of cases of voter fraud, at balloting stations, pales in comparison to the number of people who will be negatively affected by the extra layer of red tape. America needs more people to turn out for elections, not less.

Not to mention, the extra costs associated to both the individual & the state to deal with this admittedly statistically insignificant concern.

So isn't the antidote is far worse than the problem here?

Also the difficulty of obtaining an ID is at least a low barrier to fraud. Giving them out for free to every adult reduces the difficulty fraud, possibly to the point that amateurs would be more willing to attempt it.

The article misses the point. Liberals are opposing voter ID. Voter ID does jack shit to address this issue. Fix the voter rolls so that dead people, illegal aliens, voters registered in other states, etc., aren't able to vote in the first place.
