You really think the refs suck at their job? You ever try to referee a professional sports game? I'd bet everything I own it's a lot harder than the refs make it look. It's so easy to sit in front of your 60" HDTV with numerous slo mo replays and pick apart what the refs do. Are they perfect? Absolutely not but no one is.

That's such a shitty argument. It's like saying a non-software developer can't say a software developer/team sucks when software doesn't work the way it's supposed to.

When the call on the field is a touchdown, you have to have conclusive evidence to overturn said call, and you overturn the call without conclusive evidence I'm not going to cry when people criticize them for being shitty at their job because they are.

But if they're calling everything a touchdown just so that it can be reviewed then iffy TDs are going to get through as inconclusive. I'm not ok with that as it defeats the entire purpose of the conclusive evidence to overturn a call thing.

If I messed up at my job in the ER as often and obvious as refs do in the NFL...people would be dead. People aren't dead because I work hard at my job to do the best damn job I can for each patient and make sure what I'm doing is correct. I too have to make split second decisions when shit hits the fan but you don't see me making the wrong call.

The refs need to be held accountable for their mistakes. They already get instant replay to allow them to go back on their fuck ups but at least take some accountability for fucking up a call and sometimes changing the momentum or outcome of a play/drive. Stop backing up these people who have a job to do and aren't always doing it properly.
