A subreddit dedicated to people freaking out, melting down, losing their cool or being weird in public. It doesn't matter if they are on drugs or sober, anything goes. Due to the nature of this subreddit, I ask that you keep the comments relatively respectful towards mental illness and the people involved. The people depicted in these videos are real people too, and this subreddit is essentially dedicated to their worst moments, so please keep that in mind.

"How can I get arrested in my own house?"
Classic loophole. Remember kids, if you murder someone just stay inside your house because then they can't arrest you.

She's pretty much right. The police can't enter a home to arrest a suspect under a routine felony unless they have a warrant or it's an emergency.

The police can virtually never enter a home to make a misdemeanor arrest without a warrant.

edit: I don't mean to apologize for the lady in the video for being such a massive cunt.

If she opened the door they can come in, it's pretty much the same rules as dracula. She should have just told the cop through the closed door to fuck off and maybe or maybe not had a ticket/fine slid under her door.

Can i get a source?
I had cops called to my spot once for loud music. We were also smoking weed. I opened the door, stepped out quickly and closed it behind me. I was under the impression they can't enter without permission, or a warrant.

opening the door implies consent. If you want to talk to cops that are knocking at your door then exit another door and meet them in front or better yet talk through the door. I'm not going to look for a source, you can do that if you want one.
Implied consent doesn't give an officer leave to enter a home. The consent has to be explicit.
"The government must prove that consent was given. It must show that there was no duress or coercion, express or implied. The consent must be "unequivocal and specific" and "freely and intelligently given". There must be convincing evidence that defendant has waived his rights. There must be clear and positive testimony. "'Courts indulge every reasonable presumption against waiver' of fundamental constitutional rights." Coercion is implicit in situations where consent is obtained under color of the badge, and the government must show that there was no coercion in fact."
Bumper v. North Carolina, 391 U.S. 543
Edit: The quote actually comes from United States v. Page, 302 F.2d 81. My bad. Though the quote still demonstrates the standard for implied consent; I just fucked up in copying the citation.

shithead if he is there on a call and the door is open he can now arrest you. He can go into your fucking house and arrest you. He can find whatever subjective reason for cause. Implied consent isn't even applicable to this situation. If you open the door he can now detain your ass, open the door and telling him to leave isn't going to do jack shit because now you are being detained and questioned for a crime or violation.
I like how all you reddit homos think that law is universally black and white and how a particular case law applies to any and every situation.

I like how when someone disagrees with you and cites his statement you resort to name calling like a child. Grow up, please.

I like how you faggots have no understanding of case law and are too lazy to read (or understand) the cited case law has nothing to do with the discussion. If you stated the above case law in court for the girl in the video you would lose your law license. OH guys look quick I found a case law that proves the cops were in the wrong!
No you didn't, you fucking cunts.

I like how everything I said is factual and all you faggots stroke each others cocks. Especially when somebody states one case law over 40 years old and believes it applies to any and every situation. Grow up you child.
Better yet, next time a cop comes to your door make sure you open it wide.

That's sort of how precedent works...
Why does the age of the case have to do with whether or not it would be relevant?
It helps to know something about what you're talking about before posting.
No it doesn't.
Yes it does, they can now arrest you for whatever the fuck they want, it will be up to you to prove your innocence in court. It doesn't mean they can search (although it makes it much easier for them to figure out a reason to search), but now with no legal barrier between you and them they can arrest your ass and even though they couldn't arrest her before opening the door she can be arrested for disorderly conduct now. If cops come to your door without a warrant then dont open the fucking door talk to them through it and end the conversation quickly and most important never give them consent or imply consent in any way to do anything.
Open the door and boom he can see other people and say they look underage, now he a reason to enter with no barrier to entry and can ID people. He can see a fucking baggy and that's reason to search, with the door closed he cant do shit at worst leave a fine/citation for noise violation.
Nope. Per the United States Constitution, you shall allow law enforcement access to your property upon the issuance of a warrant signed by a judge or magistrate. State and local laws will differ on how officers are required to "show" you the warrant. There are also different types of warrants. Most jurisdictions allow officers access without your permission if they detect an immediate danger to life, especially to minors or domestic partners. Baring that, they have no legal cause.

Jesus fucking christ you are retarded as is everyone here. If you open the door and present yourself you can now be arrested.
Except for all the relevant case law that says you can't.
Relax. No need to be a frustrated about this, so much that you feel compelled to lose your cool and start talking shit. Fact is you don't know what you're talking about and are offering terrible advice. If the cop wants to get in, keeping the door closed is no protection. All they have to say is "we heard a cry for help," or "we smelled weed." Keeping the door closed only antagonizes them and raises suspicion. Also I would add that by stepping outside of your home, you are now no longer protected by them needing a warranty to do whatever they want. If they want you, they will get you no matter what. But when it comes to court, them not having a warrant looks pretty bad. Just saying'

Why would there be a source that says a police officer is permitted to arrest or detain you if you open your door and present yourself? You people are fucking retarded. Show me a source that says a cop cant arrest you when responding to a call if you open your door and present yourself.

Why wouldn't there be? Laws have to be documented somewhere, don't they?
No, you're wrong. The reason you don't open their door is cause they'll make up some bullshit for why they had to enter. "I smell marijuana" or in the excitement you forgot to move something like your bong (or beer bottles if you're underage) and they can see it when you open up.
