御嶽山の生還者がFacebookに手記 「家族で死ぬのか...」覚悟した瞬間
「まだ鮮明に覚えているうちに、自分用の記録として残しておこうと思います」
9月29日、そんな書き出しから始まる手記が、Facebookに投稿された。投稿したのは、9月27日に家族で御嶽山に登り、噴火に巻き込まれた男性。間一髪で噴火の被害をまぬがれ、下山するまでを書いた壮絶な手記は、一般公開されており、多くの人の反響を呼んでいる。
男性は、当日の午前6時半から、妻と子供2人の家族4人で王滝口登山道から登山を開始。小さな子供たちと休憩をとりながら4時間ほどで「王滝頂上」に着いたという。小さな子供がいるのでトイレに近い広場で早めの昼休憩を過ごした。
下山までの時間などを考慮して引き返すことにしたが、子供たちは山頂の「剣ヶ峰」まで「行きたい!」と主張したという。どうしようかと考えながら荷物をまとめ、全員がザックを背負った、その瞬間「バリバリバリ、ドカーン!!!!」という物凄い音がした……。
「バリバリバリ、ドカーン!!!!」
ものすごい音が…
カミナリか!?
と一瞬思い、その音がした地獄谷の方を見ると、
目の前の谷から大きな噴煙が立ち上がりました。
えっ …… 噴火…???
周りにいた登山者全員が状況を把握できず、
「写真!写真!」
という声が聞こえてくるなど、
その瞬間は恐怖を感じる事も出来ない程、
誰もが状況を把握していませんでした。
しかし最初の噴火から10秒弱…
「ドドドド…ドカーン!!!!」
という爆音とともに、最初の噴煙とは比べ物にならない
大きな噴煙の柱が空高く舞い上がるとともに、
もの凄い早さで自分たちのいる方に向かってきました。
男性は、とっさに昼休憩のときに行ったトイレの真下に何か入り口のようなものがあったことを思い出して、その空間に駆け込んだという。すぐに外は噴煙に包まれた。男性が逃げ込んだ場所は、トイレ真下にある高さ1メートル40センチの倉庫として使われていた汚物タンク置き場だった。
タオル等で押さえていても息が出来ない程の
ガスが充満してきて、ここで本当に死を意識しました。
(コレが続いたら、絶対に助からない…)
(どうすればいい…)
(こんなところで家族で死ぬのか…)
(子供だけでも何とかして助けられないか…)
本当にいろいろな事が脳裏をよぎり、
何とも言えない気持ちになりました。
男性と家族は、一緒になったグループとともに消防に連絡した後、窓のない空間で轟音や噴煙に耐えた。約1時間半後、静かになったタイミングで外の状況を確認し、火山灰は30センチほど降り積もるなか、山荘に残っていたヘルメットをかぶり下山を開始したという。
手記には、噴火後の現場や、山小屋のスタッフのサポートを受けながら、登山口まで戻ってくる様子がまとめられている。
下山後「あの場所にいて今生きている事に、まだ不思議な感じです」と振り返る男性。生かされた意味を考えながら、犠牲者への哀悼と、けが人の回復を祈っている。
山小屋のスタッフをはじめ地元のボランティアの方々、
警察や消防の方々、そして自衛隊の方々、本当に多くの方々が
今も救助活動を行っています。
(中略)今回の経験で、本当にいろいろな事を考えさせられました。
生かされた命。
その意味を考えて生きていこう。と
ただ今は
犠牲になられた方へ心からのご冥福を。
怪我をされた方の一日も早いご回復を。
そして安否確認がとれない方がご無事である事を祈るばかりです。
