My stuff is only 2nd tier? I basically invented this genre. I took the little idea Sea of Dogs had and turned it into something larger, gave it meaning with with the applied philosophy and aesthetic choices.

I guess I should stop making it then.

Nah I'm done. I feel under-appreciated in how much I have given to this community, in essence, created it. Maybe it's because I kept my mouth shut for too long.

Consider 'Beneath the burning hands of God' to be the last ever relevant oceangrunge release.

I feel under-appreciated in how much I have given to this community, in essence, created it.

I think /u/shanoxilt deserves most of the credit for creating the community here, you might've "invented" the genre but he's the one that put this subreddit together and has been working since day one to expand and promote the music and the ideas here.

Consider 'Beneath the burning hands of God' to be the last ever relevant oceangrunge release.

Boohoo. You're like a kid who found a new toy and don't like the way your friends started playing with it. I dig your music and if I made an essentials chart I'd probably put your stuff pretty high on it, but you gotta realize that this genre is more than just yours, man. You can't really dictate how others make music and saying BBHG is the last relevant release just makes you look like a prick.

I'd love for you to continue making music. I want everybody here to continue making music. If you really cared so much about "your" genre, you'd want the same. Because when it comes down to it, years and years in the future your name is going to be written here with all of ours as the progenitors of this genre.

So are you going to keep making music and supporting the genre you invented? Or are you gonna be "that guy that kept getting butthurt and quit"?

You're right that shanoxilt deserves most of the credit, but I feel as though saying my stuff is "second tier", and everyone elses is "first tier" is just ridiculous, considering the fact I was the one who took it from being a joke into something serious

So yes, I am going to be the butthurt one who quits, because I feel unwelcome and underappreciated. I'm not asking for people to worship at my feet, but to call me "2nd tier" and essentially close me out of the scene like this is just pathetic to me.

I did a lot of oceangrunge promoting on 4chan too, but I shall no longer. It's all on you guys now.
