Feminist critics are concerned that a juniors’ T-shirt that says “Training to Be Batman’s Wife” is so misogynistic that it might even stop young women from achieving their dreams.
Apparently lacking faith that young women are smart enough to know that a T-shirt shouldn’t dictate the course of their entire lives, Internet feminists have been up in arms about it since blogger PJ Says broke the news of its existence.
“This rag is being marketed toward youngsters who may not have had the time to develop their own kick-ass feminist views yet and therefore might assume that their fate in life is to end up making sandwiches,” read a post on Bustle.

Concurring with Bustle, Entertainment Tonight called the shirt “disappointing, especially as it’s marketed towards young, impressionable girls.”
The blogger that broke the news of the offensive garment compared it to telling young girls to “pick up Batman’s suit from the cleaner’s” and make “sandwiches for him and Robin.”
“F*** being Batman’s wife,” the post said. “I want to be Batman. I want to wear a skintight bat suit the color of dark justice.”
Of course, Jezebel also weighed in on the issue.
“I have never wanted to set a piece of clothing on fire so much in my life,” a post on the feminist website states. “I can’t even BEGIN to express how wrong every aspect of this shirt is.”
Commenters on the blog posts described the shirt as “serious bulls***” and a “horrid piece of garbage.”
