The entire mentality of Planned Parenthood is that women can't be responsible for their own bodies and birth control and that the state needs to provide them with taxpayer funded abortions and birth control and regulation.

But go to /r/TwoXChromosomes and all the women there cheer for the state to become their "husband" in terms of providing them with the things they want.

Bullshit. I've had plenty of positive interactions with planned parenthood and know many women who use their services, and a few who have worked there. Their interests are providing important medical services to women with little to no income. They are a fantastic organization who do great work.

They are an organization that doesn't respect American's right to choose for themselves on the topics of birth control or abortion and instead lobbies for government to force americans to support Planned Parenthood.

They offer much needed health services to women who don't have access, how fucking terrible is that... In a perfect libertarian utopia, we wouldn't need them. That's not the world we live in and there are far far bigger issues to confront than Planned Parenthood.

We don't need them in our current system. Nothing prevents people from buying their own birth control or requesting that coverage from their insurance company.

They do a lot more then provide birth control. And yes, they are needed. I know many women who rely on their services.

If they are needed then you and other people who believe they are needed can donate to them. Leave me out of it.

They shouldn't be singled out from other providers receiving funding from the state.

Of course they should. They provide services that a large percentage of the population vehemently disagrees with. Things like abortion that a large percentage of people consider murder and yet are forced to support.

Your argument is against abortion not public financing. Please quit abusing libertarian principles to accomplish your socially conservative goals.

A significant percentage of the population vehemently disagrees with medical care beyond prayer.

Trust me, you will be left out.

What does that have to do with anything?

[–]anarchitektLeftLib -2 ポイント-1 ポイント  (8子コメント)

well one of the 2 people in this argument will never set foot inside PP, and the other already has.

[–]57430657340634096438 0 ポイント1 ポイント  (7子コメント)

So that makes it alright to force me to support Planned Parenthood against my will?

[–]anarchitektLeftLib -4 ポイント-3 ポイント  (6子コメント)

no that's not my point at all. but, considering the percentage of your income that has gone to the federal government, and the infinitesimal amount of funding (compared to the whole pie) that goes from our treasury to PP, you may have contributed $0.01, depending on your age. yes, i think it's fair to ask you to contribute a fucking penny to something that has done so much good for our country. namely decreasing the number of abortions more than any other institution in our nations history, yes i'd say it's fair to force you to contribute a penny or 2 over your lifetime.

You do realize you're in /r/Libertarian right?

[–]anarchitektLeftLib 0 ポイント1 ポイント  (4子コメント)

yes, why?

Widows and Orphans is so old school. Hey, single moms deserve a provider too. Three kids by three different dads and nobody will marry you? No problem, the state will pick up the tab!
