YouTuberユーザーのカイザー・Ksにくわしく説明してもらおう。
彼女は「香港を助けて!」と題したYouTubeの動画で次のように述べている。
「私たちは、この動画を見ている皆さんと同じく、何の罪もありません。私たちはただ香港行政府の人たちに抗議しようとしているだけなんです。私たちは、これまで世界で一番安全だった街で繰り広げられる惨劇を見たくなんかありません。シリアやウクライナ、そして中国で起きているような惨劇はごめんです」
「おそらくこの動画を見ているみなさんは民主的な国で生まれた人たちでしょう。民主的な選挙が行われている国で生まれ、自由な選挙の権利が与えられているでしょう。でも、私たちはそうじゃないのです」
「私たちには本当の民主主義が必要なんです。私たちは基本法(香港の憲法にあたる)改正だけを問う投票を先に実施して欲しいのです。それ以上のことは要求していません」
行政府に対する不満の声は、学生たちの民主化要求デモが発生した先週末から強まっている。
デモは他の地域にも拡大し、デモ隊と機動隊との間で衝突が起きる事態となった。
香港では9月29日午後、デモ隊が再び集結し、再び衝突が発生した。
