you can go research it so you LEARN something

Hard to research much when the industry cowers behind the nonsense that fracking chemicals are trade secrets. But, it's not all that hard to see that fracking pollutes aquifiers, causes earthquakes and degrades the life of all in the area save for the hit and run companies involved.

I love hitting anti fracking persons with your argument because A) It tells me you haven't researched anything and B) It shows me you have no valid arguments

So, you have just admitted that you are a lowlife troll and industry propagandist. Do you think that bolsters any point you might make?

First off, the chemicals involved are public information. Go check out frac focus. When we fracked wells in the 1980s the mix was 10% chemicals, now its less than 1% because we found the chemicals worked better in lower concentrations. I agree with the others, set the agenda aside and learn about this stuff rather than regurgitating boiler plate talking points.

35,000+ wells are spud all over this country each year. 30,000 are horizontal shale wells, 5,000 are vertical wells. ZERO ARE IN NC.

Now, about this law, it is about not letting the competition know what your frac recipe is so you can be more competitive as a service company. The big three service companies all disclose their frac mixes already, and so its not really a secret anymore at all. But for people like yourself, I think they shouldn't have passed this law with that provision because it only allows for more scare mongering and does much less for competition. The recipes used in most frac mixes are really not that different from each other.

But for people like yourself . . .

You mean responsible people who are required by law to publicly disclose exactly what chemicals we use in our processes and to make publicly available MSDS info for any that ask? You mean people that are responsible from inventory to disposal of all chemicals in our inventory?

Edit - spilling (As usual, I suck at thumb typing.)

No, I meant for people who cling to fear of a process they do not understand.

Ask those in western PA how their well water is. Despite the industry's efforts to block any meaningful understanding, many understand quite graphically the consequences.

Yeah, that has to do with casing and cement issues - something we can fix. This is not because of the process of fracking...

"This does provide pretty strong evidence that it's a well integrity problem and not a fracking problem," said lead study author Tom Darrah, a geochemist at The Ohio State University in Columbus."

Can you, or maybe more importantly, WILL you fix it after the fact? The petro industry has slagged off every single responsibility. You claim you can fix this. Do so. Who cares if solutions can be theorized if the actual practice remains shoddy and harmful?

Let's shut down the airline industry when planes crash, and let's stop driving cars because 38,000 people die each year driving them. Or we can be reasonable, and call for solutions. That would probably be a better starting place and would result in more productive dialogue. IMHO - both sides are yelling at each other here, the educated debate has yet to begin.

This is yet another double standard I hear from fake environmentalists like you.

If I am part of the industry, I am immediately shunned, called a troll, called a shill.

Seriously?

Do you know anyone outside of the O&G industry who knows how the O&G industry works??

I have no impetus to lie to you.

FYI, I did a geophysics modeling project, since I am also a geophysics double major on induced seismicity.

Fracking is negligible. What does do significant induced seismicity is deep injection wells.

Dude... Just stick to argument #1 and not argument #2....
