How naive of me to not have expected such contemptuous responses to this picture. I understand some people may think it is distasteful, but I am quite proud of it actually.

As a woman, I don't see this as a sexual image. Yes, she is naked, but it is definitely not pornographic (pornographic; noun. printed or visual material containing the explicit description or display of sexual organs or activity, intended to stimulate erotic rather than aesthetic or emotional feelings).

If I had posted this with the title "woman" windsurfing topless instead of mother would I still be receiving the same criticism about the indecency of the picture? Fact is, this picture has been available on the internet for a very long time (at least since my dad posted it on his fb in 2009- just checked the date), and I don't think she or I have anything to be ashamed of.

I mean, come on!! This picture fucking rocks! My mom was a badass. Kudos to her. (And btw the only reason I will take this down is if my brother doesn't share the same opinions on the matter. Out of respect for him, if he logs on and asks me to take it down I will. But the rest of you can shove it.)
