Like it or not, the world is going gaga for emoji! What's not to :heart_eyes: right? Adorable packaged miniature art that tells a story words just can't express. Stormy weather outside? It's :umbrella::cat::dog:out here! Hungry? I would :gun::four::hamburger::fries:! Emoji have simply :trophy: a special place in our :revolving_hearts:. The :earth_americas: rapidly embraced these tiny pictographs express feelings of emotion defying all language barriers. Except for one big problem. :see_no_evil:

While nearly every :iphone: device has the technology to interpret and output the some type of emoji icon, your :computer: web browser isn't so emoji-friendly. This may result in a series of empty black :black_square_button::black_square_button::black_square_button:! Blank squares, really? :walking: was able to send a :rocket: to the :first_quarter_moon_with_face: (no matter what your :cyclone:mind believes), yet emojis can't be :eyes:! Puzzling, I know. :astonished:

We didn't know much about emojis early on and definitely had to hit the :books:. The :bulb: began while searching for an emoji solution for our own sites. Soon we realized that open emoji support for web-sites were either limited or non-existent. No licensing options are available for Apple's iconic set. Large corporations like Twitter :hash: and Facebook :thumbsup: have designed custom emoji sets, but they appear to be keeping them closely-guarded :cop:. Even Instagram's web-site remains littered with square boxes :black_square_button: where emoji should be.

What began as a wild "what if" idea, 4 months later, is now absolutely real. An invention that simply :blossom: organically from necessity! Modern design, filled with personality, and (most importantly) shared openly with love and excitement. But wait, there's more! :hushed: Within the coming months, we'll release the newest emoji additions (which unicode announced in June, around 250 in all) including the ever-adorable middle finger. Someday we'll enjoy the freedom to flip the :bird: without ever having to spell it out. Carpe diem!
