really? as a priest of science I think he has a responsibility to oppose any irrationality one is raised around.. especially because of catholic schools. The doc is one of the few adults you can trust to not be biased. What if the kid needs an abortion or even condoms but is afraid to ask because his doc thinks there is a hell full of unbaptized buddhists.

edit: especially if the kid is going without his parents. Also I don't get this. maybe the priest thing was a bad joke but a doctor is definitely someone who follows the scientific method. He is potentially the only person in the kid's life whose profession relies on it.. He shouldn't just be giving out stock religious answers if the kid is questioning these things. If a parent is unwilling to discuss opposing thoughts then where is the kid to turn?
