So for some background:
PGI develops Mechwarrior: Online (MWO), a niche first person shooter that takes place in the Battletech universe. MWO was crowd-funded and launched with the promise to release a persistent metagame called Community Warfare (CW) within 90 days of launch. Nearly two years after launch, they've held two more major crowd-funding campaigns, including a $500 package with gold-skinned mechs; the major functions of CW are still promised to be released by the end of Fall 2014.
Last week, PGI announced that they were launching a new game, with a cryptic count down timer on www.auniversetoexplore.com
The fans of MWO, already disgruntled, were outraged that the devs were planning to spend money and resources on a new game, when they'd claimed they couldn't hire sufficient developers for MWO.
A MWO fan made np.reddit.com/r/auniversetoexplore shortly after the announcement, in an attempt to cyber-squat on the assumed name of the new IP.
After the announced launch of the game with some... uh... lofty stretch goals, and the name Transverse, PGI used their own accounts to start a subreddit for the game, [np.reddit.com/r/transverse](np.reddit.com/r/transverse)
As of right now, there seems to be nothing there, apparently since they have it set so threads at -4 or below don't show. If you click on the moderators' names, there is nothing there. [They appear to be shadowbanned for violating reddiquette](np.reddit.com/r/AskModerators/comments/2g0cxv/subreddit_run_by_developers_violating_reddiquette/ckeezmr)
Here's what the subreddit looked like shortly after launching it
Here's what it looked like earlier today.
Every thread that had been submitted by a user had been deleted, and submissions were disallowed for anyone who wasn't a moderator.
And here's the fan-moderated subreddit:

This drama bomb has been brought to you by PGI's incompetently-totalitarian dev and mod team. Thanks!
