Sure but crossdressing is transphobic, equating gender to clothes, inferring there’s “only two genders,” and fetishizing those who are trans.
Yes, crossdressing could be a way of self discovery as being trans, but there’s more people who do it for sexual reasons, which being trans is not.
*sigh* cross dressing is not trans-phobic. The entire concept of Gender is fucked up. And it screws with kids from day one. And cross-dressing is one example of how some people deal with that fucked up ness. But those people aren’t sitting in dark basements, pullig on fishnets, and snickering over how they are screwing trans people over. Sexuality is weird and messy. That doesn’t make shaming people for liking a thing ok. There is nothing wrong with crossdressing. There is something wrong with thinking crossdressing and being trans are related (except that they both individual responses to the pressures of gender policing).
This is a cis man who supports drag “culture” and who is directly talking over and silencing a trans person.
Debating with is now talking over? I’m getting mad heretic burning vibes from this.
A cis person defining what is or is not transphobic when a trans person clearly said it was is talking over trans people.
What would I expect from a cis anti-sjw blogger tho for real
And I suspect many trans people would disagree with you.
A cis person telling a trans person what is and isn’t transphobic is exerting privilege as a cis person as a means to erase the voice of a trans person on transphobia.
-Signed, a trans person.
cosigned, a trans person
*jumps on the band wagon*
*nods head*
crossdressing, if you treat it and call it as such, is appropriation imo
