Anonymous asked: I'm sorry, but everyone needs to reframe how they are talking about pan up shots. I, too, really dislike the pan up shots that linger on women, but pan up shots can be used in other ways. Pan up shots are not inherently bad. The film version of "To Kill a Mocking Bird" uses them really well to show shots from the children's perspective, and give a sense of being small in comparison to your surroundings. Please don't pigeon hole a film technique because people misuse it to pander to men.
