Zoe also expressed her concern over the proceeds of women's work going to charity, and how the winning woman will only receive a small cut of the money, something I agreed was strange from the start. We just don't understand the overlap of the investing system with the way the company is supposed to be supporting women in tech. It's a good cause to try to encourage women to run their own businesses, but the system that only delivers her a small percentage of the rewards and gives the rest away to charities out of her control is strange. It seems more pro-capitalism than pro-woman.

We don't understand it because they were explained that the woman didn't have to make the game. That all the production was being headed by woman, and the profits go to charity, and the woman could leave the contest at any time if she had professional interest in her idea or any other reason. We told them they could see our books and see where the money went. The majority of the woman who applied had no programming experience and this was their only option. No one is going to straight up say, we believe her over you. The problem is that they just kept going on these weird parallel after they talked to her and wouldn't explain to us what was wrong.

And we don't want this to be a Witch Hunt, because we have tons of people in the industry sending stupid emails to us because they read twitter and not the website. We have people on the GDC diversity panel explaining how there are so many better opportunities for women.

We don't understand if Zoey can run a Game Jam which is basically where people pay to go into a room and make games, which the person running the Game Jam uses to promote the game jam and raise donations. We can't ask woman for idea, give them professional concept artist (For no money.) and then try to make the game and give the profits to charity. We never took the idea and licensed them all the art.

I understand people don't like it that they have to pay to make the game (Or in this case pre-order the game.) but it's 6 month work. And all the money goes to the production company not TFYC. TFYC can't make any money off of it. And we don't it's a giant money hole.
