The political destabilization in the middle east (and hence the terrorism) has a hell of a lot to do with the west's involvement there, but I have to concur. I spent a lot of time an effort counter protesting the EDL and BNP protests to try and assuage growing islamifobia and I feel like a fool for doing so. I felt particularly saddened to hear the murderer of James Foley last week has a british accent.

I'm also sad to see the amount of Muslims, especially young kids who will often speak in their own tongue/ dialect in public and always seem to want to go to faith based schools. It just feels like a bit of a slap in the face to have worked so hard to try and get people to get along but then to have them positively trying to be apart from it.

I'm tired of defending a group that doesn't seem to want anything to do with most of the core values that I have. I'm not calling for them to be hated on or anything, far from it. But I do think they need to stand on their own two feet for once.
