You can go screw off. Telling a person or even a subject of a painting that their features are 'ew' is a real dick thing to say. That's not even critique, that's intentionally being an asshole.

On your First Digital Painting piece, no one came out and said "ew. looks like crap." No. They gave you technical ways to improve.

Hahaha this is ridiculous! You shouldn't just change you're comment to look better. And what? Just so it doesn't get downvoted? You didn't express your opinion in a different way, you changed it from saying,"Fuck you, shove your opinion up your ass!" to something that makes it seem that you had etiquette in the first place.

The edit function would be to fix a grammatical error or something like that. Not to change what you said entirely. Anyway, all of that aside, I spent the last hour making VERY ROUGH improvements on your original drawing. Everything is softer and smoother, more feminine. I know you were apparently looking to make her more masculine, but just tell me what you think. Here's the link. Again I only spent ~hour on it.

Ew. Less girlie features. It's not well done, and you just made her look like she'd stepped out of a beauty parlour rather than off a battlefield. More realistic skin textures (scars, wrinkles, etc), less polished brows and a stronger jaw line would make her look more like the warrior she is.

Why would you remove her dirt, her age, and change her entire individual identity? You made her into a pretty young thing, but she's not. You removed scars and bruises, and all personality. Please, never, EVER touch my artwork without my consent.

Clear edit just so you know: I would like your comment deleted. I'm livid that you took my creative property and altered it without permission. Remove it or I will ask mods to take action.

I didn't take your creative property. I'm not claiming this is my work. I stand to gain nothing from simply showing you a different direction you could take this. I quickly edited a few parts of her face with the paintbrush and smudge tools. Nothing fancy.

I don't understand why doing this would make you so angry? I would welcome this sort of thing personally. Feel free to get the mods involved, but regardless of what happens, I still feel that I've been in the right this entire time.

She's probably annoyed because your changes have erased all the character from her painting, and technically speaking they're just not very good (that jawline looks especially ridiculous). You have changed the painting from a portrayal of a semi-realistic and flawed character into a Vogue magazine cover. There might as well be writing on it about '10 ways to please your man in bed!' and 'How to lose 50lbs in 2 weeks!'

That's not legitimate criticism of the art, that's just "ew I want women to look like pretty pretty princesses".

Dude this is legitimate crit. I said it looked 'ew' because of masculine features on a female character. I even provided examples of where you can improve.

Attacking the physical features of an individual is not critique. Those features all exist for a reason- in all art, each choice is made intentionally. Do you think I want some pillow-princess, cutesy-wootsy girl? No. I want a hardened warrior who doesn't have access to make-up or tweezers.

You probably find these faces just as 'ew'.

Wow, I'm not attacking the physical features of an individual. I'm not saying that I think someone with masculine features is ugly. I'm saying that Leona does NOT have masculine features, and that you messed up in drawing her in such a way.

Check her out, she DOES in fact have more feminine features, so when you posted this drawing of her I immediately noticed that she doesn't look this way. Just look at the other guy who commented! first thing he says is the same thing, "Features are too masculine." You're good at drawing, but I was just telling you how you could improve, so look at the rest of my original comment if you honestly want to improve this drawing.

Look buddy, try to imagine how you would feel if you spent hours and hours making something, and then wanted actual artistic critique on how to technically improve, and the first thing you were met with was "Ew."

Regardless of if that's your opinion, try to learn how to phrase critique and constructive criticism. You can say, "This isn't working for me. Can you explain your reasons for constructing those features like that?" And I'd say sure, rather than telling you to kindly fuck off.

edit: Also, I believe my portrayal of a fictional character is just that: mine.

If I had worked tirelessly on a piece, I would want brutal honesty because I want to know what people are actually thinking, without any fluff. But I guess that's just me, and I could see what I said as being harsh. But regardless, lets squash the beef and end this here.
