Zelda Williams Is Deleting Twitter for a 'Good Long Time'

Zelda Williams has decided that she is deleting her Twitter account from all her devices, possibly forever, following the death of her father Robin Williams.

The 25-year-old actress took to her account to plead with her Twitter followers to report two users who had been sending her absolutely awful messages and photos.

“Please report @PimpStory @MrGoosebuster. I’m shaking. I can’t. Please. Twitter requires a link and I won’t open it. Don’t either. Please,” Zelda wrote before deleting the tweet.

The two users were sending her photos that appeared to be Photoshopped pictures of Robin supposedly after his death. They also called her some awful words.

After deleting that tweet, Zelda wrote “I’m sorry. I should’ve risen above. Deleting this from my devices for a good long time, maybe forever. Time will tell. Goodbye.”

Earlier in the evening, Zelda released a lengthy statement that was incredibly touching and also infused with a great sense of humor.

UPDATE: Zelda added this message on her Instagram account: “I will be leaving this account for a but while I heal and decide if I’ll be deleting it or not. In this difficult time, please try to be respectful of the accounts of myself, my family and my friends. Mining our accounts for photos of dad, or judging me on the number of them is cruel and unnecessary. There are a couple throughout, but the real private moments I shared with him were precious, quiet, and believe it or not, not full of photos or ‘selfies’. I shared him with a world where everyone was taking their photo with him, but I was lucky enough to spend time with him without cameras too. That was more than enough, and I’m grateful for what little time I had. My favorite photos of family are framed in my house, not posted on social media, and they ‘ll remain there. They would’ve wound up on the news or blogs then, and they certainly would now. That’s not what I want for our memories together. Thank you for your respect and understanding in this difficult time. Goodbye. Xo”

Wow, what the hell is wrong with people?

# 3

some people sending her hate?

# 4

a hiatus ,since no one cares about her

# 5

And get this, twitter won’t let us report it unless it’s about us or we have direct authorization from her with proof including her driver’s license.

# 6

probably triple the twitter followers since her dad died got to her?

# 7

Well, it looks like those two accounts have been suspended, so at least there’s that. It’s just a shame that she had to experience it in the first place.

# 8

people are so cruel! it makes me sad that some people have no respect.

# 9

They got suspended but they immediately had new accounts. They’re boasting about the attention. It’s sickening what they were sending her, poor girl. Also, that photo (which I sadly saw by accident) didn’t look too fake.. I hope it was but I dunno.

I’m wondering why someone whose father just died is spending so much time on twitter. Why is she even thinking of twitter?

@Sassypants: Have u lost ur famous father? Stop being so judgemental!

@Sassypants: She probably only has friends on Twitter.

Sassypants @ 08/13/2014 at 3:30 am

@R: Being famous has nothing to do with it. When a normal person loses someone they love they don’t chill on the Internet and tweet with strangers. I will judge all I want…

Leave her alone! It’s her life! what’s twitter?

Not a Photoshopped photo, but also not him.
Reddit: search: Robin Williams autopsy.
Someone posted the alleged pic and someone posted the link to where the photo actually came from.
So, yes dead guy; no Robin.

Hope that those two morons get some retribution in kind.

ppl can be so cruel .those who sent those tweets n those who have said it should of been Justin Bieber are socipaths

@Meeko: oh thank goodness it isn’t him, sorry for the other man.. But seriously, that messed me up all night. Also, for the judging one, they were hitting her up relentlessly, I saw what they said and how much they tweeted her, it did not start with her tweeting.. So if you wanna judge someone, judge those desensitized wackos who sought her out to get some attention.

I have been praying for this young lady, IT IS JUST AWFUL how people are so damn sick to hurt her and her family like this. I pray that she can have time to heal and those sicko’s get caught and banned from the net, for their sick behavior!
I don’t have many photos of me with my dad and he was very special to me (he passed away). But the memories in m heart is what is most important!
God bless you Zelda and RIP to your dear dad. He was an awesome man!

Update: Twitter has banned any and all access to their services to both @PimpStory and @MrGoosebuster. Neither shall, nor will tweet again. Zelda did not deserve what they did, may she find only support now with the passing of her dear father.

@Sassypants: People can respond in times of grief however however they damn well please. I also like how you’re focusing on why she’s on social media instead of the actually significantly horrifying fact that this woman had been severely harassed online right after her father’s death. That tells us all we need to know about you.

What a sick world we live in when people send such hateful remarks & images to a daughter after her father’s death. & worse yet somehow blame her for the trash they send or question why she would even be on twitter at this time.

HAVE SOME RESPECT – you all know NOTHING about her or the relationship she had with her father & it’s NOT anyone’s business. What a bunch of disgusting bullies.

That’s horrible…why would anyone do something like that? I just can’t believe the cruelty of some people…what do they get out of it? Seriously…what kind of behavior is that!?

Thank all of you on this thread who stood up for Zelda.

@assman: Troll scum

@Sassypants: Be judged yourself, you big fat nobody – her father was a public figure, worldwide condolences are via social media, poor cow probably didn’t anticipate the screwed-up losers like yourself shitting all over this tragic situation…
