A graphic image which apparently shows the seven-year-old son of an Australian jihadist in Syria holding a decapitated head has been described as ''barbaric'' by Australian prime minister Tony Abbott.
オーストラリアのトニー・アボット首相は、シリアのオーストラリア人ジハード戦闘員の息子（7歳）が切断された首を持っているのを明らかに示す写真を「野蛮」と評しました。
The disturbing photo was posted on Twitter by the boy's proud father, Khaled Sharrouf, Australia's most wanted terrorist, who spent time in jail for plotting attacks in Australia and last year fled to Syria with his family to join Islamist fighters.
この不愉快な写真は少年の誇らしげな父親で、オーストラリアの最重要指名手配テロリストであるKhaled Sharroufがツイッターに投稿したものです。

Alongside the photo, which was taken in northern Syria, Sharrouf reportedly wrote: "That's my boy!"

Other photos show the father holding the severed head or wearing combat fatigues and posing alongside his three sons, all of whom hold guns. The boys are believed to be aged four, six and seven.

少年達の年齢は4歳、6歳、7歳だと考えられています。
The image of the boy struggling to hold up a severed head was described by Sydney's Daily Telegraph as "a photo that will shock the world".

The photo emerged as Mr Abbott prepared to send Australian support to northern Iraq to assist the Yazidi people trapped by Islamic State extremists.

"We see more and more evidence of just how barbaric this particular entity is," Mr Abbott told ABC News.

The photo was also condemned by Chuck Hagel, the US defence secretary, who is visiting Sydney.

"ISIL [Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant] is a threat to the civilised world, certainly to the United States, to our interests, as it is to Europe, it is to Australia," he said.

Muslim leaders in Australia were quick to condemn the image, saying it was the "act of a lunatic".

"I believe what he is doing now is only feeding his own ego and demented attitude towards life," said Dr Jamal Rifi, a Sydney-based community leader.

Australian authorities have warned that local Muslims who have been going to fight with militants in Iraq and Syria pose a potential threat on their return. The government is seeking to expand the surveillance powers of the security agencies to ensure returning fighters are monitored.

Sharrouf, 33, was sentenced to jail for four years in 2009 for plotting attacks in Sydney and Melbourne but fled to the Middle East late last year by using his brother's passport.
