Voyboy was a hot topic during SI episode last night. A couple of highlight quotes would be "Everyone thinks Voyboy sucks, even Curse fans think Voyboy sucks" "Curse will never achieve top 3 with Voyboy as midlane" Also "Voyboy will never be as good/better than Shiphtur" (The last bit is totally valid criticism imo).

That's an incredibly generalized comparison for two midlaners with completely different playstyles. It's like comparing a rally car vs a indy car, they both easily win at what they are made for. voy isn't as good on champs like ziggs and xerath where shipthur isn't as good on talon/tristana.

Aside from the first quote, the other 2 are both valid opinions/criticism. Everybody gets all upset when somebody doesn't like a team they like. People are allowed to publicly say they don't think X player is good enough to be on a top Y team. They are allowed to say X player is worse than Z player. Everybody just loves villainizing Thorin though.

no it isnt... how many times has shiphtur beat voy in lane this split? once. how many times has voy beat shiphtur in lane this split? 3 times. voy was like 40 cs up on shipthur during their first game. voy was up in cs during his trist game against shiphtur and voy was up in cs as a fucking talon vs ziggs.

You totally misunderstood what I meant by valid criticism, I didn't mean that I agreed. What I meant is that comparing players who play the same position is a totally valid way of analyzing and criticizing professional players. Unlike where Thoorin said "Everyone thinks Voyboy sucks, even Curse fans thinks Voyboy sucks" That is not really a valid/professional way of analyzing someone.

It is valid criticism. Sure shiphtur may have lost to a Voy when they played against them. But bad days / games happen to everyone. The fact is that statistically Ship was the best midlaner this split. What makes it even more amazing is that dig didn't have THAT great of a split.

Shiptur's biggest downfall is he plays for KDA. Statistics don't mean shit when he's lost lane to every mid laner and Dig barely made play offs.

The particular comment I think Dominate is refuting is Thoorin's statement that "Shiptur is and will always be a better Mid Laner than Voyboy".

Dominate appears to have set up a playlist of videos about Voyboy vs Shiptur.

actually 2 good superweeks and a 9-2 record against top 5 teams during the 2nd half of the split. curse's standing is higher then clg and tsm if you removed complexity and evil geniuses. same with c9, who if you remove col and eg, would have had the #1 spot for the majority of the split other than the very beginning.

Yeah and im sure that losing to the bottom 2 teams constantly didnt show any weaknesses that will be used against them at playoffs.
