How to start

In Japan, electricity is provided by a private company.
Therefore, to start using electricity at your new residence, you have to make a contract with the electricity company in your area. (ex: Tokyo Electricity Company for Tokyo metropolitan area).

You can make an appointment to apply a contract by internet or telephone. Of course, Noah Corporation will begin the procedure for you to start using.

Circuit Breaker Information

If your electricity use exceeds the capacity on your contract, the circuit breaker will switch off and the electricity circuit will be shut down. Turn off the electrical equipment in use and raise the circuit breaker back on.

Be Careful of Water

Please be careful not to use electricity near water, as leakage or electrocution may occur.

Be Careful of Dust

Please be careful when using electricity with multiple circuits at a place that easily accumulates dust, as it may cause overheating and lead to fire.

Payment Methods

There are three methods of payment

1. Bank account transfer Customers of financial institutions can pay the electricity bill automatically from their bank account.
   If you pay your electricity bill directly from your bank account, you will receive a discount of around 52 Yen each month. You can apply at the electricity company office in your area or by internet, then an electricity bank account transfer application form will be sent to you from the electricity company. Please fill out the required information and affix a seal on it then post to apply. It may take 1-2 months for this changing apply.
2. Credit Card You can apply at the electricity company office in your area or by internet, then an electricity credit card application form will be sent to you from the electricity company. Please fill out the required information and affix a seal on it then post to apply. It may take 1-2 months for this changing apply.
3. Directly Bank Deposit Payment forms will be mailed from the electricity company. Payment can be made to the electricity company at a bank or post office. Or you can receive the electricity payment paper from the staff when they read the meter every month. For more details, please enquire with the electricity company in your area.

Suspension of Using

Payment is due within 30 days of the meter reading.If payment is made after the due date, the daily interest rate of approximately 0.03% is charged. If payment is not made within 20 days after the due date, a warning will be given and the electricity supply will be stopped.

Relocation Procedure

When the relocation date is decided, you should contact the electricity company to notify the contract cancellation date.Staff from the company will arrive on the contract cancellation date to settle the bill to that day.

How to Start

In Japan, gas is provided by a private company, too.
Also, there are two kinds of gas – city gas and propane gas. To start using, you need to make an appointment to apply for contract with the gas company in your new area of residence (ex: Tokyo Gas for Tokyo metropolitan area) via the telephone or internet (the same process as for electricity).

After having an appointment to the gas company, staff from the gas company will visit your new residence to open the tap with you. Of course, Noah Corporation will begin the procedure for you to start using.

In the case of a fire, the alarm system in your house makes a noise to warn you. There are 2 types of alarm systems – smoke system and heat system. The system is installed in most rented apartments.

About Gas Charges

There are 2 types of gas. One is city gas, another is propane gas. If you use propane gas, you have to pay a deposit payment in advance when the tap is opened, but you can get the refund at the time of relocation. Also, there are some differences in rates. The monthly cost is calculated by the result of the meter readings regularly. The total amount will be the monthly fee plus the gas usage.

It may take 1-2 months to change the payment method.
3. Directly bank deposit Payment forms will be mailed to you from the gas company. Payment can be made to the gas company at a bank or post office. Payment can also be made at convenience stores or financial institutions.

Contract Term and Payment

As a principle, the contract term is 1 year. The contract will be automatically renewed if you do not cancel the contract before the contract completion date. Payment is due within 30 days of the meter reading. If payment is made after the due date, the daily interest rate of approximately 0.0274% is charged. If payment is not made within 50 days of the day after the meter reading, a warning will be given and the gas supply will be stopped.

Relocation Procedure

When you decide the relocation date, you should contact the gas company by telephone or internet to notify the contract cancellation date. Then staff from the company will arrive on the contract cancellation date to close the tap and calculate the final cost, then cancellation is complete.

How to Start

In Japan, water supply is provided by the water department in each area.
To start using, you need to contact the water department in your new area of residence by telephone, fax or internet. To start or stop water supply, please contact the Customer Service Department at Osaka Metropolitan Water Department 3-4 days prior to the desired date of starting/stopping water supply. Of course, Noah Corporation will begin the procedure for you to start using.

The contract period will continue until you notify a date to stop the water supply to your residence. When relocating, please contact the water department with which you have contracted.

Usage Fees

The bill is calculated on fixed day every month. You can confirm the fixed day by refering to the meter reading paper. Meter charges are required every 2 months. When you start or stop water supply in the middle of the month, depending on the number of days, the monthly fee and usage charge will be calculated to that day.
