I use Acestream streams from Wiziwig.tv for soccer.

They're in HD, and they don't really lag or anything for me, and I only have 15 mb down.

I mostly follow the BPL, and there are always great streams available.

Also, some games are shown on NBC on Saturday and Sunday Mornings. Additionally, some are available on Telemundo in Spanish.

Both NBC and Telemundo you should be able to get through OTA. Good luck!

Edit: Also, If you follow La Liga, look into DishWorld. It has BeIN sports and they show many top leagues (La Liga, Serie A, Ligue 1, and Copa del Rey). It's only $10 a month if I remember correctly.

I only have 15 mb down.

That's luxurious for HD, faster than a lot of places in America.

[–]sin_eater82 5 ポイント6 ポイント

Eh, those numbers are only coming from people who are running ookla speed tests.

I'm not saying it's wrong necessarily, but it doesn't account for people not running speed tests. The averages could be lower (or higher).

That's irrelevant data, comprised of people who choose to run the speed tests -- typically people who already have access to ultra high speeds and are testing that they're getting what they pay for.

I looked at my state -- California -- and no surprise -- almost all of the tests originate from the Los Angeles and San Francisco bay area / Silicon Valley, where I'm not surprised high speeds exist because they're tech sectors.

And my secondary point was that 15Mbps isn't needed for an HD stream, but you made it sound like you were scraping by with "only" 15 Mbps down... sort of proud you were doing so well with so little, when in fact 15 Mbps is great for America, and more than ample for HD.

but you made it sound like you were scraping by with "only" 15 Mbps down... sort of proud you were doing so well with so little, when in fact 15 Mbps is great for America, and more than ample for HD.

The fuck are you on about?

You jumped into a conversation defending a point of view made by another redditor. Deal with it, or admit you weren't paying attention.

Uh no. I replied to you. Regarding just one point you made. That point was about internet speeds in the US. Just because I replied to you doesn't mean I somehow am agreeing with anyone else. I'm making my own point.

You apparently got confused about who you were replying to. And now you're going around saying "deal with it" and attributing arguments to me that I never made.

Grow up. Or are you going to downvote me again because that makes you feel better?

I replied to you.

Exactly. You entered into a conversation, but feel absolved of the responsibility of participating in that conversation. You're not ready for Reddit.

Or are you going to downvote me again because that makes you feel better?

Apparently I'm not the only one. I downvote people who ignore reddiquette.

Are you trolling? You've got to be trolling.

You made a post in during a discussion. You made a potentially factually incorrect point about internet speeds. I replied to you with data that shows internet speeds in the US. And you replied with this;

And my secondary point was that 15Mbps isn't needed for an HD stream, but you made it sound like you were scraping by with "only" 15 Mbps down... sort of proud you were doing so well with so little, when in fact 15 Mbps is great for America, and more than ample for HD.

You keep saying "you this" and "you that". You blatantly forgot who you were replying to. I never said anything about scraping by with 15Mbps, or anything about 15Mbps being used for HD.

Instead of just admitting that "hey you're right I replied to the wrong person" (you know, like an adult would), you decide to go off on this tangent about "responsibility of participation". Protip, that doesn't exist. There is no "hey you spoke up therefore you are responsible for everyone else's opinion." I never even alligned myself with anyone else in the thread. I only made a comment about internet speeds in the US. Also, this has absolutely nothing to do with reddiquette. You can't stand admitting you made a mistake and would rather downvote and keep arguing arbitrary points.

And condescension doesn't fit you, you're not good at it. Grow up, admit you made a mistake, and move on.

Advice: don't enter into a conversation and defend a position that you don't actually understand, then act surprised at the response you get.

Standard time warner internet speed.

The BPL is shown on NBCSports not NBC, FWIW.

[–]Ozzimo 5

Technically both, but you're right in that it's mainly NBCSports.

Thanks. I stand corrected.

I thought I never saw it on NBC throughout the 2013/4 season but it turns out a few games were shown on regular NBC, partly due to the Olympics.

Some games are shown on NBC.

This. Ace stream links are the way to go. I have been using them and they are fantastic. I was able to use them without issue on a 5mb connection. Just make sure you open the correct port on your router for the software. It won't work unless you do. Wiziwig forum had a great guide for getting it set up.

I'll def test out that website this season. Thanks!

[–]Ozzimo 9

MLS has a service called MLS Live that allows you to stream any non-nationally televised game all season for a one time fee. Right now it;s about 30 bucks. You also get 5 years of past games and condensed games after they have been played. It also works on Roku and Chromecast so you can easily stream on your TV. Beyond that, maybe borrow a friend's ESPN login and stream those games as well.

This is great to know! I'll subscribe to that the second I cut the cord!

ESPN acquired the digital rights to MLS soccer in May, and ESPN is mulling over whether to allow subscribers who don't have cable.

In other words, ESPN could decide to fold the MLS Live service into its WatchESPN app, which is only accessible to people who already receive ESPN through a cable subscription.

I expect ESPN to block access to non-cable subscribers because of pressure from cable companies. Live sports is one of the big things that keep cable subscribers loyal. If they the exclusivity of ESPN, then cordcutting will accelerate.

[–]Ozzimo 1

There will be a stand alone package for next year so cord cutters can still pay for access. http://www.mlssoccer.com/news/article/2014/05/12/what-mlss-new-media-rights-deals-mean-match-streaming-mls-live

"Out-of-Market Package

As stated in the official announcement, the "out-of-market package, currently serviced through the MLS Live and MLS Direct Kick packages, will be available to a wider audience via ESPN3, ESPN’s live multiscreen sports network currently in more than 92 million homes, and WatchESPN, available to fans who receive their video or Internet subscription from an affiliated provider."

The out-of-market package will provide HD-quality digital access to more than 200 games each season. ESPN3 does not require a cable subscription; any US-based MLS fan who wants the package will have access to it, regardless of internet provider. The package will be available via multiple over-the-top services (e.g. Apple TV, Roku, etc.)."

So, next year MLS Live is being moved to ESPN3, with possible reduction in service (possible loss of archive access, possible reduction in the number of devices it works on, possible pricing changes, and probable blackout restrictions whenever one of the ESPN channels is broadcasting a soccer match).

Define "non-nationally televised". Aren't most MLS games on ESPN? Or does that not count? Because I tried to stream a Sounders game last week and couldn't find any way to watch it.

[–]Ozzimo 0

Any game on ESPN or NBC sports is blacked out. Also any games in your region. But you can use Hola on Chrome to get around it. Pose as a Canadian.

Huh. Interesting. I'll have to look into it. Thanks!

Aren't most MLS games on ESPN?

typically only one per week.

there are typically match streams posted on the match threads on /r/MLS as well.

Have you looked into a DNS switching service like Unblock-Us or Overplay? This would let you subscribe to something like beIN Sports Middle East or Premier League Pass from New Zealand for soccer games in HD.

PLP only show every EPL match, beIN show almost all EPL, Serie A, La Liga, Ligue 1, MLS etc and other sports like tennis, NBA and rugby. I think the cost this year is $13 a month, but I haven't re-subscribed yet to double check.

Edit: Forgot to mention, Champions League and Europa League are on beIN too, which you mentioned wanting to get.

I've gotten really good quality out of www.bosscast.net

I don't get good quality (HD) where I live, or anything remotely resembling it, but this website seems amazing otherwise. Thanks for the suggestion.

[–]tron_funkin_blow 1 ポイント2 ポイント

Google Neulion and VLC. It can be a challenge to initially setup, but its HD quality. NHL is the biggest user of the service, but NFL, MLS, and NBA also stream some things. NHL does live games for sure, not sure about the others.

Are you disconnecting phone, TV and Internet or just Phone and TV? I'm planning on cutting phone and TV once our promotion expires in two months and I know Internet alone costs 39.99 for new customers but wasn't sure how much it is for returning ones.

I'm in an apartment with no other ISP, and it's $50 for internet alone in northern NJ. Not cool, Optimum/Cablevision.

But I guess it's better than Verizon. My only choices are Verizon and optimum and since I use Netflix I'd rather go with optimum

Just TV, since we have Verizon for phone (ugh)

You can do VoIP if you're willing to do a bit of research, or even something like Magic Jack would work if you don't want to spend as much time on it.

My parents have a magicjack. I thought it was dumb when I saw the commercials, but they've had it for years now and use a Google voice number for it.

Navix has eveything

Honestly, soccer is probably the best to stream. What league/s do you follow mostly? One of the best bets is to head to your team's subreddit or to /r/soccer when the match is about to start and find a good stream from the comments there. Or, even better, head to the local bar / pub and watch it there (although it does cost money for food and drink this way...)

EPL, MLS, and the Champions League. I love to watch the El Classico and a few Bundesliga games as well.

Definitely get MLS live, it's awesome (although I believe this is the last year of it since ESPN is taking the games next year. There's rumors we'll be able to watch those online for free though...)

For EPL /r/soccer will definitely have threads. Just browse the comments for 'stream' and see what people say the best one is. Same thing for Champions League, although I do believe I watched a few of Champions League games through England's ITV last year. Just get something like HOLA unblocker for Chrome and you'll be able to access their HD streams for free.

For the El Classico and a couple of the other big games I'm sure you can find the streams online, but those are the best ones to catch at the pub.

Dishworld carries French, Spanish and German league streaming for $10/mo. May be able to get EPL via watchespn. MLS live is great too.

For hockey, hockeystreams.com. 100$ to stream the whole NHL season, Pre season and playoffs. Every team, every game, every junior league as well, no blackouts or restrictions.

Is this in HD? How is it compared to just subscribing with NHL Center Ice?

Yup its in HD. Center ice has restrictions, blackouts and doesn't show playoffs.

I would also add to /u/propiro98's comments. The video quality is fantastic. The stuttering of the games on Center Ice was horrible. Hockey Streams looks better, and like he said, zero blackouts and full playoff/finals coverage. Just better all the way around.

Also, you can choose the audio stream (Canada vs. US). We even watched part of a Habs game in French. That was cool.

I'll concur with a hockeystreams recommendation. Was wary at first but the HD feeds, lack of blackouts, the additional non-NHL games(they had every Olympic hockey game) and the occasional MMA feed made it worthwhile.

I use a website called firstrowsports.eu , always has any game of sport sport up on your computer and they host multiple links incase one of them goes down

But the streams are in SD unless you download their desktop app and I'm too afraid to download it.

[–]sin_eater82 2 ポイント3 ポイント

Yeah, I started to install it one time and it was sketchy as fuck.

I use that but the quality sucks most of the time.

First Row is generally solid...

[–]sin_eater82 5 ポイント6 ポイント

Generally sucks in my experience. I can put up with it on my laptop if need be, but not on a 52" tv.... not even close.

Used it tonight. Only once froze up. Used another link and was back in business. Had a clear picture as well.

[–]sin_eater82 0 ポイント1 ポイント

Used it to watch what?

Boxing

The NFL is the only thing keeping me on cable.

What if you could spend $129.99 to get every NFL regular season game online?

go on.....

Set your VPN to either New Zealand or Argentina which has the lowest price and buy the package. Then once you have bought NFL Game Pass. Set your VPN to either Germany or The Netherlands, login, turn the VPN off to get your full broadband connection and you're good to go. The advantage Game Pass has over DirecTV's NFL streaming service are that there aren't any blackouts and you get the games from ESPN, NFL Network, & NBC.

Thank you for telling me about this! One question, would you happen to know if Game Pass has the Red Zone Channel too?

Game Pass does indeed have RedZone included, the version hosted by Scott Hanson.

It has Red Zone Channel as well.

Use the promo code REP15 to get 15% off of Game Pass. I just checked out for $103. It feels good.

How does the subscription work. Do I put in my real billing address? I'd think NFL would check that.

Your US billing address would work. If it didn't work, they'd lose out on the US expat community.

[–]hobo_architect -2 ポイント-1 ポイント

That website is terrible. It's filled with malware inducing ads and typically only has very low quality video.

[–]hobo_architect 2 ポイント3 ポイント

ok. noted. thanks!

That's the site I use for NFL games. Do you have other sites?
