Now this is ridiculous. Why do gay people have to be seperated? This sounds really bad IMO. Gaystation just sounds ironic.

'Gay pride' stuff isn't generally about having to be separate. It's about wanting to be visible. Precisely because there is so little to show that you are different. I'm bisexual, yet all the time people I've known for years find out for the first time. And making sure people know you exist does actually do a lot for progress in acceptance.

There are also groups and communities like /r/gaymers where you can enjoy things like gaming while also being candid about who you are as a person. Without having to stand out, or have a scene be caused because of it.

This Playstation in particular is being auctioned off to raise money for refugees displaced due to sexuality or gender identity. And I haven't seen anyone else within the gay community with anything bad to say.

EDIT: Here's the auction page. Current minimum bid is at 17100SEK, which is roughly $2500. It's being sold by one of the leading electronics retailers here in Sweden, and all the money is going to charity.

With the amount of people I hear referred to as gay or some other form of sexual identity online, I kind of assumed I was the only straight gamer.

Which is kind of a fucked up thing when you start to think about the kids who grow up hearing words they identify with used as insults. And which kind of explains why 'gaymer' communities are as prevalent as they are. It's also part of why all of the circlejerking going on about how this is supposedly a bad thing is bullshit.

It's the same reason you see them driving around with rainbow bumper stickers that say equality on them - Some are fine with the idea of being a little different, a lot even embrace it. This looks like some pretty sweet swag any gaymer would love to have in their collection.

The rainbow stickers are to show that you support gay rights. It's a political statement, not a personal one. Most people I know that have them on their cars are not gay themselves.
