Petition to ban the subreddit /r/destinythegame (self.Destiny)

As we all know, invading another subreddit is against le reddit ruelz. For the past 24 hours, /r/destinythegame has been invading /r/destiny with retarded tech support questions and beta key begging in an obvious attempt to OverRustle us. I fear this operation will only grow stronger as the release of their game draws closer. Pls reddit, strike now and shadowban these users and remove /r/destinythegame before our beloved subreddit is filled with screenshots and friend request threads.

I uad no idea this was not the sub for Destiny the game (Alien Blue, wverything looks alike). I am happy to go to the real sub now knowing that, anyone that isn't is a dick, but I don't see why the real sub should be banned, won't that just make your problem worse?

Yes remove that subreddit, so that when the players don't have own subreddit they ALL will come here. More likely remove this subreddit and let the game boys get this one.

If you were using your eyes you would have seen multiple references to this not being the subreddit you were looking for. The problem is that people aren't using their eyes. They're googling "destiny subreddit" and immediately posting a new thread. It doesn't cross their minds that destiny is a word that existed before the game. Their minds are focused on beta keys with autistic precision.

I stumbled upon this subreddit while looking for Destiny the game as well. I am on mobile so I don't see a banner or any of the sidebar content unless i choose to open it. While I looked over some of the topics and realized this wasn't the right spot, not everyone will do this.

Not everyone deserves sympathy. Like I said, people who use their eyes are using their eyes, people who aren't using their eyes aren't using their eyes. No amount of coddling is going to change that. At the end of the day it isn't the responsibility of this subreddit to advertise for other subreddits.

I wasn't trying to come across as saying people who don't make an effort deserve sympathy, you can rant and rave about and to them all you wish. The problem is that you will have a continuing issues as the game grows larger and larger and the wrong subreddit issue will need to be addressed in some manner or the issue will continue.

In your settings, there's a little check box to keep all subreddits formatted as the default. I like it that way because some are just obnoxious. I prefer the simplicity of the default.

So, not everyone see's the banner. Although, it only takes 2 seconds and a slight use of your brain to realize this is the wrong subreddit.

Yep that's why i was here and was confused about the post and all that non-sense with the actual game. just ppl that doesn't take time to read the side bar and actually post their question right off.

The open beta has opened recently so you guys will need to bare with them, as well as when the game will come out it will be worst.

You do realise that if you get rid of /r/destinythegame the only subbreddit they can think to go to is this subreddit. Getting rid of it will only make it worse. The best you can hope for is that /r/destinythegame becomes really big so everyone stops coming here

    Its a sub for a game called Destiny. The forums for said game has same color schemes as r/Destiny so people assumed it was correct subreddit.

    They won't ban subreddits unless the sub only purpose is to harass or admins promote raids and harrassment.

    I suggest banning/reporting people who purposely troll and making a Sticky directing Destiny players to appropriate subreddit.

    Edit: I scrolled through the Top page on r/Destinythegame and didn't see any intent to harass r/Destiny. So the subreddit wouldn't be banned.
