Since I'm home sick on a Saturday night, I figured I'd bring this lovely thread to our collective attention.

We all know that /r/politics loves to call conservative voters dumb, or uneducated, or unintelligent. Presenting yourself as intellectually superior to those who think differently than you do, and even actively building the "dumb conservative" strawman, is what the drones in here thrive on. It creates the foundation for their feelings of ideological superiority and allows them to ignore any criticism or opposition as being leveled by "those idiots".

You don't have to look far for the irony. Title of the post?

Uneducated and unintelligent people vote Democrat

Those damn reddit liberals always calling conservatives stupid to give themselves a smug sense of ideological superiority! But the facts show that they're the stupid ones! Gawd, we're so much better than them!

Also, TIL that you don't become more educated when you get more education:

Post-graduate do vote for Democrats but I wouldn't call them more educated in general. Just more educated in their specific field.

Now, I will give the poster credit for actually providing data, even if it is from the place that predicted that Mittens would beat Obama in 2012 and was the most inaccurate major poll of the Presidential Election.

This is the sort of stuff that absolutely drives me nuts in politics: "Our opponents think they're better than us because they're smarter. What smug assholes they are. But the truth is we're better than them because we're smarter!".

It also seems lost on the OP that people vote according to their own interest. Shocking news: Poor people don't like to vote for the people that want to take away their entitlement programs! Rich people don't want to vote for those who want to increase their taxes! Therefore, poor people are dumb and rich people are smart.
