Of course you might think the total amount of violence will be more, but I think it will be much less. Why? Because peace is more profitable than war. Providers who engage in war will lose their customers.

Imagine if a customer in what is currently America got his monthly bill which showed a $5000 expense for "War with Yemen".

He'd call up his provider---"Uh... What's this $5000 expense for War with Yemen?"

Customer Service Rep: "Yes sir, that's an action we engaged in to protect you."

Customer: "Protect me from what exactly?"

CSR: "Well, terrorists, of course."

Customer: "What terrorists? Yemen? You can't be serious!"

CSR: "Sir, we apologize for any misunderstanding, but we are protecting your freedom!"

Customer proceeds to switch to a less violent provider.

Why does this not happen today?

1) Elections happen every 4 years. Democracy doesn't have the high-speed feedback markets do. 2) Because someone else is footing the bill, the people who decide to go to war are not selective about engaging in war.

Warlords don't tend to have the sort of separation of concerns, the person who provides law and order also gets to control who gets to steal from who thus they're also in the property business, the business of taking your property. Their henchmen are also in and out of your wife and daughters whenever they feel like it because personal property includes persons who can't defend themselves, and without a militia you can't defend yourself.

Rights, including the right to property can't be sustained without a monopoly on violence being held by someone who protects those rights for everyone equally. Whether that's a government, dictator or friendly local warlord doesn't matter. If rights are not protected universally then they become positions that can be traded for things like property, violence, servitude and so on.

i lived in total anarchy, when in 1990 soviets were driven of from Lithuania there was total anarchy for about 2-3 years, police had no resources, government was a bunch of idealists with no idea wtf to do, no taxes no law in practice.

local "tough guy" would pop up, he could not be super cruel or fucked up as when intellect level of people is pretty high(unlike lets say somalia or any other dumb country which always pops up as example why anarchy is shit, they would be exact same shit anarchy or not...) people expect certain living standarts and will get mad if shit goes down, as local mob could not muster army like goverments do they were always in check. it was very safe and taxes were at least 10 times lower, as very efficient 5-10 mobster guys ran whole town and would not take half your money like government does.

back in those days there was no internet so organizing big scale stuff was hard, but now with internet, bitcoin etc., why you would ever need government? what government does what could not be done by just people organizing shit on internet?

if people really need that bridge(in anarchy bullshit projects dont happen, only necessities) there will be wild debates on internet with videos schemes etc etc until best ideas surface, then people chip in what they can(remember its necessity, if its not it wont happen) and build the bridge. source: my town of 17k people built hospital in anarchy years, was finished in about a year, big ass hospital, only wealthy people donated actual money, but general folk provided food and manual labor, making cost of 3$ billion bridge to a realistic 300k$ + external resources(which depend on market prices, stuff not available locally)

internet is good example of thing ran by millions of different people with different economic, cultural and language backgrounds.

mobster guys have no power, they are there to take care of rapists and any trouble makers, thieves etc... just look how safe is japan thanks to yakuza. it was similar thing in east europe, instead of waiting for fat donut eating cop to find the rapist, community knew its in its hands and info about suspect was quickly knocking into mobsters door, things taken care very quick. errors on getting wrong guy didnt happen as mobster was always careful to act on good evidence or he might piss wrong people off.

Yes people posting engineering schemes in internet videos sounds like a great approach to infrastructure. People chip in? Good luck with your $3 Billion kickstarter to build a bridge that only benefits 2 cities.

You are high if you think a major bridge costs 300k$. materials alone are orders of magnitude higher than that.

Basically, I agree with you that your model works at a certain limited scale, but is undemonstrated and not thought out at large scale, and a lot of your points are unrealistic or just silly.

Really?

Government does more than produce money. I like bitcoin because I don't like the crony capitalism that makes up our flawed monetary systems. That doesn't make me libertarian. It also doesn't make me love the government.

With money it used to be between government control and private control. It really worked out to be a combination of both. Now with bitcoin it's neither. No uncontrolled inflation, money for the people, by the people. In math we trust.

In the meantime I am yet to see a decentralized technology that provides safe clean water to the poor family down the street, or gives the poor an opportunity to go to school, who keeps my family alive when they fall ill with cancer, to make it so a mother doesn't need to pay a bill for her new born, who gives me the ability to by food when I loose my job, who distributes wealth from some guy who makes more money in an hour than I will make in a decade. And who insured my civil liberties (yeah they do that, that's why I can tell the PM to go fuck himself and the Queen doesn't chop my head off for it) Mind you I don't live in a country that has a deficit over 100% of its GDP that it just uses to pay to the rich while they blow up babies in Pakistan. If I did, you know what, yeah, maybe I'd think like you. But in the meantime I do get social services.

Where I live water is free, it is a public service paid for by taxes. If it was private then there is no redistribution of wealth and the rich guy that lives down the street and whose property spans that of 4 streets and is being invested for corruption with government officials (no joke, I'm dead serious about that statement and I don't live in a rich town) gets to pay for the ability of an 18 year old in an apparent who just moved out an only works at McDonald's to drink and shower. If it was private they would both be paying the same price per liter.

I don't live in the US. When my mom had cancer and we didn't have $200k plus to pay for treatment then it's okay because we have public hospitals that pay for it. Unlike in the US where if you're lucky enough to have health insurance but if you loose your job then you may very well loose that insurance and it doesn't cover the hobo. Where in Canada it does. So yeah my government does do more than just pay for research. They literally save lives.

Congrats with the rain water. So long as a lack of environmental regulations doesn't lead to you drinking acid rain it sounds nice. Enjoy the Maui Waui and that you don't live in a desert :)
