I read this and still don't know who this person is

Random hipster-folk musician of the week.

EDIT: Sorry for shaking the hipster hornet nest. Since I can only leave a comment every 10 minutes I'd just like everyone to know you're all fantastic human beings, not easily upset, emotionally unstable or vindictive towards people for having a different opinion or view than you at all.

Definitely not hipster, he's been around for quite awhile

I knew about him back when his basement tapes were still underground.

I actually convinced him to make music

I actually taught him how to play

I literally am your father.

[–]wildeep_MacSound 3 ポイント4 ポイント

No. Thats not true, thats impossible.

CHODE_MONSTER_2001 from XBOX Live is definitely my father in relationship to how many times he's apparently fucked my mom.

my basemennt is still under ground even to this day .

[–]Being_present 1 ポイント2 ポイント

your ignorance is showing. he "made it" before the big hipster wave, 2004 / 2005.

and im not too shocked that he got mad, his songs are very soft and could be ruined by loud talkers.

People were pretentious music snobs long before 2004 / 2005 bub.

True - I was a pretentious music snob back in the mid-90s, you know, before it was cool.

Seriously, people hated hipsters in the early jazz era.

[–]Being_present -3 ポイント-2 ポイント

oh really grand pa pa! pzl do tell us a story - we simply love your stories!

my point was he was in the indie scene before it became the ATM machine everyone else lined up at

Stories? Well bah god boah I'll tell ya a good'n! Back in my day we just called it an ATM instead of ATM machine! Because ATM stands for Automated Teller Machine and we didn't feel it necessary to say Machine twice when describing something! Them were the good ole days I'll tell ya whut!

The indie scene was definitely a cash cow already in 2004. The acoustic, faux-antique indie scene, maybe not.

[–]Being_present 0 ポイント1 ポイント

my bad

We were all talking about hipsters well before 2004. There's an episode of Seinfeld with Elaine calling Kramer a hipster that probably aired in the early 90's and it was still a little late to the game.

Hipster doofus

Hipster as a term dates back to at least the 1930s.

[–]Being_present 0 ポイント1 ポイント

1920s was late to the game

So what you're saying is that he was a hipster before being a hipster was cool?

He's been around forever. My parents introduced me to him in the early 00's.

You forgot this in your edit:

[–]blue92lx 0 ポイント1 ポイント

So you've never heard of soul music is what you're telling me.

Ray LaMontagne could only be considered soul by the soulless.

[–]sic_transit_gloria -1 ポイント0 ポイント

vindictive towards people for having a different opinion or view than you at all.

lol I don't even like the guy but he has 800,000 likes on facebook and has been playing music for 10 years. Don't blame others for reacting against your flaunting your ignorance of music on a music board
