It's a perfectly legit and valid gender-neutral pronoun, absolutely. But as a person who's been bizarrely obsessed with me (seriously, he's already messaged cosmickeys more than once about how awful I apparently am - like, weeks or a month ago - among other things, over the course of like a year or more), he knows my preferred pronouns, and is being a dick on purpose.

What's weird is I don't even really know who the fuck he is, aside from some weirdo who has a giant hate-boner for me, and who I think was somehow involved with Laurelai? Idfk.

It sounds like that person feels they have a quarrel with you. If they know all that then they've probably chosen (at some level) not to mis-gender. They might not agree with something, but they didn't chose to be obviously hurtful in that way.

You can look at it as a half-empty gesture I suppose, but it could be half-full one too.
