  NEW ALPINE RAILROAD TRANSVERSAL

  State-of-the-art Drive Units for Tunnel Safety Doors

  For more than a century most of the north-south railroad traffic traversed the Swiss Alps at 1,200 meters above sea level. These became outdated with the need to transfer international freight from road to rail. A more efficient solution was created by boring new tunnels through the Alps at a level 400 meters lower.
