As someone who has worked for UPS in the past, I find it funny when people get annoyed at this type of behavior. You want your package delivered in 1-2 days, but you don't want it to get tossed around A LITTLE. Also, you try accurately delivering 300 packages a day and making it home for dinner.

The fact that he gives the finger, who cares, he hates his job. What person enjoys doing manual labor.

Next time you go to a restaurant, remember someone can say the same thing about a waiter dipping his nutsack in your soup.

well, it is still cream of mushroom soup....

Except waiters have even bigger chips on their shoulders

IF you don't do the job properly, then get a new fucking job. Don't complain about your job, do something about it. Don't do the job poorly if you don't like the job, that just makes you a shitty person.

I paid money for the fast delivery, I paid you guys shipping and handling to bring my product to my door unharmed, and yes, my fragile computer part will definitely get destroyed if some jackass throws it onto my porch. It's not always shoes...

yeah. i pay you to ship it in 2 days. i pay YOU and not some hillbilly from the south willing to do it faster and cheaper because you are safer. some douchebag comes to my door, FLIPS ME OFF, and then throws the package at the door so hard it bursts, he better fucking run.

If you hate manual labor, don't do it.

[–]paxton125 0 ポイント1 ポイント

yeah. i would GLADLY take a job as a delivery person, but its always filled, presumable by idiots who fuck it up.

Me. :(

Yeah, the only thing I take issue with is how he throws the package like that. There might be something fragile in it.

And for all we know there was some rude sign on the wall, I know I've seen a few get upvoted to the frontpage here ... shit like "LEAVE THE PACKAGE AT THE DOOR I PAY YOU TO DELIVER IT NOT TO COME PICK IT UP BLA BLA"

That would piss me off too. It's not hard to leave a polite message.

There's nothing fragile in that box, it's a zappos box. They sell shoes. He could have dropped it off a house and it would have survived

[–]paxton125 2 ポイント3 ポイント

i know. but a laptop i ordered (ups shipping) got broken because the ass who was carrying it dropped it inside the van and then tossed it onto the ground.

it was labeled as "computer parts very fragile" so i thought that would imply not to manhandle it.

[–]creepyeyes 1 ポイント2 ポイント

Are you sure it was the guy in the truck who broke it? Part of the reason writing "fragile" on a box does nothing to protect it is because the package also gets handled by machine on conveyor belts at the sorting facilities, and slides around on those belts alongside some pretty heavy packages. Machines can't read "fragile" signs, and so they don't know to treat your package with extra care. It's entirely possible a box full of engine parts, for example, slammed into your box at one of the sorting facilities.

There are ways to avoid that, of course, or at least get UPS to refund you for the damage, but it does cost more. Overnight packages get special treatment and are handled by actual people for most of their journey, so they don't get as banged up. If you go to a UPS Store and have them pack it for you, you'll generally always get up to the amount you insured it for back if it breaks because UPS Stores are supposed to pack things such that they can survive being on the conveyor belts.

If you want to pack it yourself, the general rule of thumb is that if it can survive the force of a four-foot drop, it will be ok. For fragile packages, you generally want to have four inches of packing material on each side of the item in order to absorb the shock. Not-so-fragile but still potentially breakable items can generally get away with two inches of packing material on each side.

i know. and im willing to bet it was, because the internals of it (it refused to boot up) were shaken up quite a bit.

[–]killafofun 0 ポイント1 ポイント

Fragile doesn't mean anything to people that are involved in delivery services, especially when they are not paid enough to care.

[–]Ravek -1 ポイント0 ポイント

Oh, then that doesn't matter either. Didn't notice the name nor would I have known what it meant.

Yeah, so nothing much wrong here, just a guy in a bad mood, doesn't hurt anyone.
