If I am not Palestinian due to my willingness to face reality instead of delusion, so be it. At this point of the conflict, the right of return is an impossibility. At this point, it's the right to STAY that's in jeopardy. I'm not trying to persuade Palestinians to abandon their rights; I'm trying to persuade them to avoid losing everything. Israel is going to continue destroying Palestinian homes and territory regardless. The only thing that can be changed is it's portrayal in the media and international intervention. I am aware that the media has almost never been Palestine's friend, and the same goes for international politicians. But what else is there to do? Its either Israel responds to fire, or Israel fires unprovoked. When Hamas and the pa united and the world largely supported it, they were under pressure. Their government was scrambling, and it was divided to an extent. The kidnappings of the teens allowed them a way out of that quagmire, and Hamas played perfectly into their hands. Hamas has been the release valve for Israeli screw ups this whole time, and that dynamic has to change in order for the world to give a shit.
